14 km from Ryuoo Ski Park, Guest House Hostel yukuru is a recently renovated property situated in Iiyama and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. The hosts were extremely kind and accomodating. They had wonderful recommendations and drove us to one of the onsen nearby. We shared a lovely home cooked dinner and breakfast and despite our lack of Japanese were able to have interesting conversations. Would highly recommend.

Breakfast was home-cooked mini buffet, Japanese cooking. 4 mins walk to the nearest gondola. Private onsen for yourself (Just need to write room number at reception). Plenty of space to place your snow gears. Honestly it was exceptional for the price we paid.

From the fresh lilies that perfumed the reception to the quirky collection of local pepper cans (yes, we were obsessed!), every corner felt unique and welcoming. We stayed in a traditional Japanese-style room, which was perfectly equipped and incredibly relaxing—a wonderful way to unwind after exploring. Although the hotel isn’t right next to Nagano Station, getting around was super easy with frequent buses and trains. On top of that, Mr. Haruhiko went above and beyond, offering to drive us to the nearest station whenever we needed—it’s this kind of thoughtfulness that really sets this place apart. What truly made our stay unforgettable were the hosts, Fumie and Haruhiko. Their kindness and attention to every guest were beyond anything we’ve experienced before. As a gay couple, we’re often careful when booking accommodations, but their acceptance and warmth made us feel completely at home from the start and all worries were settled. It’s hard to put into words just how much their hospitality meant to us. They didn’t just make our stay comfortable—they made it memorable in the best possible way. The best place to stay if you travel the Japanese alpine. Clean and big room in beautiful house. The owners are very nice. Grate location with good view.

Staying at this place made my life at that moment felt so surreal. This place and its surrounding is beyond beautiful! Its secluded location, near the forest, and there were even deers, the nicely designed room with traditional ambience yet and breathtaking view, everything was so perfect! Nishida-san delivered exceptional service. He prepared breakfast every morning, picked me up and dropped me off at the Bessho train station whenever I need without additional charge. I'll be back for sure! This place is idyllic and a perfect place to experience some solitude.
