Located in the centre of Kyoto, 雅 is a recently renovated accommodation, which provides soundproof rooms. The air-conditioned accommodation is less than 1 km from Gion Shijo Station. A traditional Japanese house, newly renovated while preserving its historic charm and in Kyoto‘s prime location. The host was very friendly and helpful and we were also offered to use his bicycles! We loved staying in our room. It was spaceous, super clean and cosy.

Set in Kyoto, less than 1 km from Gion Shijo Station and a 13-minute walk from Kiyomizu-dera Temple, 東山の宿 藤屋 offers air conditioning. The host is super friendly and organized, she even gave us photos of Kyoto which were taken by her husband as souvenirs. The amenities were above and beyond, location is quaint and cute. Highly recommend.

In the Higashiyama Ward district of Kyoto, close to Shoren-in Temple, Azukiya features a garden and a washing machine. A hot tub and a bicycle rental service are available for guests. Staying there was a delight The room looked exactly like on the pictures except it felt bigger and really cosy. The bathroom was perfect, very clean and honestly quite spacious when compared to other accommodations in Japan. It really felt like having a traditional Japanese room but with all the comfort of modern times. We were also worried to be cold coming in November but the place had definitely enough heating to keep the room warm if needed. Breakfast, japanese or western style (still with a Japanese touch) was delicious, very filling and everytime different. The location was overall very nice as the subway station is mere minutes away and Gion area isn't too far while other areas north of Kyoto are also in walkable distance. Kitamura-san was just the cherry on the cake as she was extremely helpful, welcoming and caring. It felt wrong to leave the place.

Ideally located in the centre of Kyoto, Kokonoe Machiya offers air-conditioned rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a shared lounge. A perfect place for a Kyoto visit if you don't want to be around the tourist masses. The place is newly renovated and just thought out well, longest sleeps I had in Amy of my accommodations so far. The host (Tony) is a really nice guy with a lot of knowledge about the area and loves to talk and give recommendations.

Family Inn Kei 慶 features accommodation within 3.2 km of the centre of Kyoto, with free WiFi, and a kitchenette with an oven, a microwave and a toaster. The place was very well organized based on guest needs. They communicated the check in details very carefully that even when we arrived very late, we didn't have any issue getting into to our room. The place was also very clean.

Set in Kyoto, less than 1 km from Gion Shijo Station and 1.5 km from the centre, Woman Only Guesthouse Nanohana (Female only) offers air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi, and a shared lounge. everything! the guy at the reception is the kindest! the guesthouse is clean and cozy! I totally recommend it! I had a private room with futon and the bathroom was shared, but bathrooms are so clean that it wasn’t a problem at all! Also there’s everything you need, towels, soap, shampoo etc. there are also some snacks in the common room:) last thing, position is great as well!

Attractively located in the Shimogyo Ward district of Kyoto, Hachi Inn is situated 1.3 km from Sanjusangen-do Temple, less than 1 km from Kyoto Station and a 16-minute walk from Kyoto Shigaku Kaikan... Hachi Inn was very clean, with friendly staff who were helpful to answer any questions but also friendly with us. They engaged in conversation which was really cool. The room had all the things you would expect or want, including a kickass shower, Wifi, tea, refrigerator, etc
