We were received by the owner personally who was very friendly and welcoming. We booked a single room, but Hester upgraded our booking to a self service cottage with excellent facilities. Breakfast was included in our booking and we still had the privilege of enjoying our breakfasts. Hester's husband also gave us an tour of the fossil museum, which we thoroughly enjoyed. A supper were offered at a very fair price, which we accepted and it was delivered to our cottage. Very tasty Karoo tripe and a chicken potjiekos.

The hosts, Roger and Judy were a delightful couple who went out of their way to be helpful and made sure we had a comfortable and tranquil stay. The cottage was well equipped, quaint and in keeping with a retro farm stay.

The place was beautiful, cozy and warm. Brenda and Ivan are such lovely people they welcomed us at our arrival. Loved the house and the history of it. Wish we could stay longer to walk around the farm

Charming property that has retained all the old western cape farm style. The hosts, Fred and Carla, and food are exceptional. The addition of an outside pool and seating area is lovely and we spent the whole evening outside enjoying the summer night and Carla’s local nibble platter and wine.

The accommodation was brilliant. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Setting was stunning. Especially watching the rain fall while sitting on the porch. The service from Eben was spot on. He was very helpful and, when requested, he gave us great advice on travel routes.

Pabala Private Nature Reserve er staðsett á malaríulausa Eastern Cape og í aðeins 20 mínútna akstursfjarlægð frá N2-hraðbrautinni. The Pabala Nature Reserve is easy to find, as it is directly at the R330, not far away from Hankey. We had a mountain view suite in walking distance to the restaurant. The suites offer you a lot of privacy and the view is stunning. The equipment is modern and cosy with a nice fire place for cooler days. The place was very clean and you can park in front of the house. We had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant, the food was very good, especially the french toast (breakfast) was delicious! The prices at the restaurant are reasonable and we could watch the animals (like peacocks) from there. We did a game drive on our own and saw Giraffes, golden-brownish Wildebeests (!), Impalas and Nyalas. We liked the feeling, that the owner and the whole staff really take care of the animals and they have an eye on beekeeping as well. If you are looking for tranquility to relax and enjoy the bush feeling, this is a wonderful place to go to. A special thanks to Ettienne, who did a great job to meet all our needs.
