Attractively situated in the Higashiyama Ward district of Kyoto, Rinn Gion Shirakawa is set 600 metres from Samurai Kembu Kyoto, 1.2 km from Shoren-in Temple and 1.9 km from Kyoto International Manga... Excellent hotel in unbeatable location. The rooms are new, spacious, very clean and the shower is amazing. This has been my second stay at the hotel and I couldn't recommend it more.

Ideally set in the Nakagyo Ward district of Kyoto, Hotel Musse Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi Meitetsu is situated less than 1 km from Samurai Kembu Kyoto, a 17-minute walk from Kyoto International Manga... This hotel was probably one of the best we stayed at in Japan. Room beautiful, spacious, quiet! We absolutely loved it. The location is perfect, close to buses, train. There is laundromat on one of the floors that we could use.

Cross Hotel Kyoto is set in Kawaramachi Sanjo and provides rooms with warm wooden decor featuring Kyoto-style architecture and free WiFi. Spacious room (compared to other hotel rooms in Japan). Very clean. Perfect location at the centre near Kamo river. Nice staff.

It has a huge lobby and is directly connected to the subway, very convenient. The rooms are spacious, large and well equipped. A well priced recommendation in Kyoto.

Conveniently set in the Higashiyama Ward district of Kyoto, Gion HANNA STAY is set less than 1 km from Gion Shijo Station, a 11-minute walk from Shoren-in Temple and 1.5 km from Heian Shrine. Booked both rooms on the ground floor for 6 pax with the tatami areas for 4 nights. Compact rooms, but they were beautiful (modern Japanese concept), comfortable and equipped. Brought young kids who transformed the tatami area into their play area. Found the bathroom with drying function extremely helpful for laundry. Location was perfect to walk to the new town or to Gion, and about 3-5 mins walk to the Keihan Sanjo train station with elevator access (and can also connect you to Sanjo station). My family and I can be fairly superstitious, but despite a private Buddhist graveyard just right beside our rooms, there was nothing creepy about the hotel and rooms! Couldn’t even see the graveyard and didn’t have any weird encounters/feelings - felt peaceful instead. Hands down one of the best boutique hotels we’ve stayed in before and we hope to be back when we’re in Kyoto!

Attractively situated in the centre of Kyoto, Travelodge Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi features buffet breakfast and free WiFi throughout the property. Fantastic location, right in the heart of the city and good links to public transport. Room was very clean, ample room and great facilities. Front desk staff were very helpful. This hotel pleasantly exceeded my expectations and was easily one of the best places I stayed on my trip to Japan.
