They were very helpful is guiding me with my planning, in regards to how I should route my interests. There is a 7/11 across the street. A very nice ice cream place right next door and loads of dining options around the hotel as well as loads of options within the station. The rooms are well equipped. Separate shower, bath tub, toilet and sink. The size of the room is pretty good by Japan standards. There is a small couch in there, as well as a desk and chair. They have an onsen as well and a gym. Plus laundry facilities. Would highly recommend this hotel for its location, room, amenities and all.

Rooftop overlooking the city of Kyoto was lovely. Train station within walking distance and great restaurants nearby. Highly recommend!

The Thousand Kyoto features air-conditioned rooms with satellite flat-screen TV in the Shimogyo Ward district of Kyoto. Perfect location just a few steps away from Kyoto Station. Modern Japanese interior architecture, perhaps a little bit too dark for my taste. Clean, well acquitted room with all the amenities and perks one would expect. Very good breakfast, Western and Japanese. Nice and helpful staff as well the front desk as in all the restaurants. We would not hesitate to stay at The Thousand again on any future trip to Kyoto.

I was glad to have learnt about this property and its history. The interiors are unique and the facilities are exceptional. Lounge access was a great option as well as the bar and library. The staff are so kind too and helpful. Can't wait to stay here again with my sister!

We loved that it was a modern version of a traditional Japanese Ryokan! The hotel was very clean both in the public areas and the hotel room! Staff was very kind and professional. They were very accommodating and well versed in different languages. Very foreign and local people friendly.
