Quinta Vilar e Almarde offers rustic-style accommodation in Castelo de Paiva. It’s quiet and clean. The owners are kind and attentive. Breakfast was tasty. And the room was comfortable, cozy and clean.

Offering a terrace and views of the mountain, Candeias do Souto is located in Bragança in the Norte Region, 9 km from Braganca Castle. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Perfect location for relaxing or hiking in a beautifully refurbished old stone building with a nice garden. Great breakfast and very friendly staff. Definitely recommendable and we'll not hesitate to book this again if we want to return to the region.

Overlooking the scenic Douro River Valley, Quinta da Casa Cimeira, Guest House, Wines & Food is set in a historic country house and surrounded by a garden and vineyards. Our stay was amazing! Dinner and breakfast were of excellent quality, the Porto wine was among the best we tried and in unlimited quantities :)

This was the nicest stay I’ve had on my Camino, beautiful gardens and a lovely swimming pool to refresh tired legs and feet. The whole family make you feel so welcome and there is dinner from locally sourced food and some delicious local wines. If you get a chance I definitely recommend staying here.

Spacious, clean and comfortable, with brand new appliances. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Perfect for families traveling with children.

Everything. The hosts were so nice, so welcoming. We travelled with both our kids and they were so flexible and nice to them. The pool is fantastic. The swing with a view also nice. The breakfast? Delicious. They served fruit from their own garden (we were there during the season for passion fruits, the kids ate them all) When we booked we found the price a bit on the high side, for sure given the location (a bit remote). But once you are there, you see it’s worth it. They are really such nice people
