Situated in Hakuba, 2.6 km from Tsugaike Kogen Ski Area and 49 km from Nagano Station, Backcountry Lodge Hakuba features accommodation with free WiFi, air conditioning, a shared lounge and a bar. WOW WOW WOW…I cannot explain in words how wonderful this lodge is, but I will try nevertheless Communication: From the time that we made the booking until we left the lodge the communication was exceptional. Eric sent us details on the best way to travel from the airport to the lodge, gave us a list of recommended restaurants and offered to make the bookings on our behalf. We arrived at the lodge at 2h30 am and Eric was there to welcome us. We had a what’s-up group chat with Eric wherein we let him know when we wanted to be collected from ski fields and restaurants. Food: We are spoiled with an amazing, cooked breakfast every morning. The breakfast was different each morning for the week that we were there. We also had 24/7 access to tea/coffee/hot chocolate and snacks. Transport: We did not have a car and were taken to and from the ski fields & restaurants for dinner each day. We were also taken to a supermarket to stock up on supplies for the week when we arrived. The lodge and our room: The lodge is beautiful and immaculately clean. Our room was beautiful with our own bathroom, comfortable bed, with a small fridge and coach. The lodge has a large drying room for snowboarding and skis. Fireplace: The lodge has an amazing open fire in the lounge where we spend many evenings just chilling out after a big day on the slopes. The lodge is dog-friendly and several guests brought their dogs with them. Thank you for a wonderful 5-star holiday 😊

With Tsugaike Kogen Ski Area reachable in 9 km, Sakka Sanso features accommodation, a restaurant, a garden, a shared lounge and a bar. We absolutely loved our stay here. The rooms are cute, clean, and surprisingly spacious for Japan. They have two steaming hot onsens that can be booked for private bathing times. Everyone who works here is so sweet and kind. The food is delicious, we ate in the restaurant for breakfast every morning (alternating Japanese and western style meals) and most dinners too! Delicious katsu, teriyaki chicken, beef rice bowls, and veggie tempura! We tried a few other restaurants around Hakuba but we kept coming back to Sakka Sanso! They also picked us up and dropped us off at Hakuba Station, helped us arrange taxi rides, tours and gear rentals, and they got us lift tickets at a discount. Add in the awesome location right next to the 3 Sakka lifts and we can't wait to return to Sakka Sanso!

Pension Ringo-no Ki is a completely non-smoking property located in Hakuba. Free WiFi access is available in this lodge. There is a hairdryer, free toiletries and slippers on site. Yoshi and his wife were the warmest hosts we have met after 6 months of travelling. From the moment we arrived early morning, they took care of us and went out of their way to accommodate us. The pension is very cosy, the room and beds are very comfortable and clean, and the breakfast is simply amazing, so worth it! The private onsen, which can be used one hour per day, is another fantastic bonus, especially after a day of skiing. Do not hesitate to book this place, you will not regret it!

Le Bocage – Hakuba Echoland Chalets are situated in Echoland, a popular nightlife site where more than 30 bars and restaurants can be found. The property offers free in-room WiFi and on-site parking. Great area, clean rooms, lots of kitchen appliances and comfy bed

A 5-minute drive from Hakuba Happoone Ski Resort, Pension Belnia offers cosy accommodations and free Wi-Fi throughout the property. We really enjoyed the staff in the hotel. Yutaka and his wife were very nice and made our stay here very pleasant.

A 15-minute drive from Pilatus Ski Resort, chalet-like Nomanomori offers quaint Western rooms. It features a garden with a terrace, free Wi-Fi and a cosy lounge with a fireplace. Delightful cosy b&b with the most friendly, helpful and generous owners. Rooms are not huge but ample for a couple with lovely outlook over the garden. Breakfast is home cooked and delicious, served in a nice dining room with open fireplace nearby. The owners generously offered to serve us a home cooked meal for dinner one evening as we were having difficulty finding an open restaurant. It was delicious. Private bathrooms are small but adequate however they have a great large indoor bath/spa for guests which was so relaxing. Plenty of lovely places to visit, drives, local onsen etc and the owners have lots of local knowledge and information. Really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it.

A 10-minute drive from Hakuba Happo-One Winter Ski Resort, Pension Tomato offers spacious Western-style rooms with a loft area. Love it. Super friendly hosts who helped us a lot, offered to pick us up, take us to hire gear at echoland (with discount at affiliated store), take us to deliver our luggage and send us to the station upon checking out. Booked restaurants for us too since we didn't have a local phone number. Thank you so much! Great accommodation, very cosy and nice atmosphere, vending machine inside, 2 onsen rooms (one of which has an outdoor onsen too, very nice in the snow) which can be used privately by booking each day. Drying room for ski gear is very convenient. Short walking distance (<5 min) to free local bus stop to goryu, happo, iwatake and also to echoland base camp for the hakuba valley shuttle. Buses only run a few each day and finish pretty early, best to not miss the last one as getting a taxi can be a pain! Breakfast needs to be booked by 10am from the previous day, but it's amazing, highly recommended.

We have a variety of beautiful and well appointed chalets, located in prime areas centered around the Happo ski resort in Hakuba. The house is clean, nice, spacious for my family 4 adults with 2 kids. The staffs were all very friendly. They helped us with dinner reservations and arrange for the transportation. Amenities in the house are so complete without any worries. We enjoyed cooking too. They even helped to store the proposal decoration stuffs.
