We arrived late in the night due to a last minute cancelling at the Airport of Funchal. We were welcomed with great warmth. The ambiance there was very cosy and pleasant, and so were the people. Definitely to recommend!

First of all, the staff is exceptionally good. The peace and quiet, although you are so close to everything. Rooms are perfect. The view is amazing. The terrace is the best place to relax.

All Proteas’ rooms are heated and have a private bathroom. Some rooms have a kitchenette and sea views, while others have wooden sloped ceilings. I just loved the peace and quietness, my room and balcony, Teresas delicious home cooked food, the amazing sea view, the comfortable bed and most of all the great warmth and hospitality I met from Teresa, her staff and her good friend Luis. I had just the Christmas I wished for, away from all the usual demands - Thank you <3

The house and gardens are stunning, we particularly enjoyed spending time on the balcony and walking around the banana plantation. The bed was super comfy! Communication was exceptional and they were able to accommodate our early arrival time. Thank you!

Featuring lake views, Belle Vue offers accommodation with balcony, around 7.4 km from Santana's traditional houses. The property features garden and city views, and is 40 km from Porto Moniz Natural Swimming Pools. The guest house provides mountain views, a terrace, and free WiFi is available throughout the property. The house is marvelous!!!! It’s such a nice villa with modern facilities and stunning view! The host offered us coffee and biscuits upon our arrival. Although she can’t speak English or Deutsch but we can still communicate by google translate. I don’t find it’s a problem at all since she’s super sweet regardless.

Offering a terrace and city view, Alexia Room is set in Funchal, 1.7 km from Marina do Funchal and 15 km from Girao Cape. Featuring sea and mountain views, this bed and breakfast also comes with free WiFi. The property is non-smoking and is situated 700 metres from Almirante Reis Beach. I loved this room. We stayed here for 1 night before our flight and it was perfect. Close to restaurants and the harbor. The room was clean, updated and had air conditioning too! I would stay there again!

At the guest house, every unit includes bed linen and towels. Eddy, the host, made our stay perfect. He arranged a diner outside specially for us and made the most amazing Italian coffee when we woke up. He even brought us up the hill so we could catch the bus to Funchal. We wished we could have stayed longer.
