Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Casa das Proteas is located at Estrada das Covas nº8, São Jorge, Madeira Island, 50 km from Funchal. The location is excellent as a starting point for several hikes. Casa de Proteas is a lovely place to stay. Theresa was such a brilliant hostess, she made it feel like home.Breakfast was just right to set you up for the day. The food in the evenings was beautifully prepared. I would definitely recommend Casa de Proteas for a beautiful and relaxing holiday destination.

Situated in a restored 18th-century home, Casa Da Piedade offers a lounge with fireplace, outdoor garden with barbecue and brightly decorated rooms. Wi-Fi and parking are free. the garden and building were gorgeous, the staff extremely kind.

Situated in Funchal, within 2 km of Almirante Reis Beach and 4 km of Marina do Funchal, Quinta São Gonçalo features accommodation with a garden as well as free private parking for guests who drive. A beautiful Quinta set high above Funchal, with incredible views over Funchal. Especially for New Years Eve fireworks! Part of the downstairs is a dining area where breakfast is served, or on the terrace outside the dining room - which most of us did. You can use the large kitchen of the Quinta to make drinks throughout the day and evening and store items in the fridge but the cooker is not to be used. The other huge downstairs room seems to be an office environment for a company that has about 5 staff on site office hours. All the accommodation is upstairs. The room we had was at the front of the Quinta, large and spacious. Very comfortable and clean with incredible views of Funchal. Other rooms have a view of the plantation behind but also seemed very spacious when I looked in.

Situated just 1.7 km from Lugar de Baixo Beach, Panoramic House provides accommodation in Quinta do Almeida with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen. Warm welcome, homey feeling. Thanks for the tips and great sharing experiences with other guests in the kitchen and on the wonderful terrace. 😃

Situated in Arco da Calheta and only 2.6 km from Madalena do Mar Beach, The Artist House features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Ludgero is a very nice person, always available for help and kind to ease your holiday. The house has an amazing view over the sea and the valley. The rooms are quite comfy.

Featuring lake views, Belle Vue offers accommodation with balcony, around 7.4 km from Santana's traditional houses. Great view and awesome place to rest. This part of Madeira is much more greener than anywhere else. The host is very helpful and friendly!! Helped us to rent a car for a good price and offered us pick up/drop off from airport with reasonable price.

Offering a terrace and city view, Alexia Room is set in Funchal, 1.7 km from Marina do Funchal and 15 km from Girao Cape. Alexia is very easy to reach via messages, she is super friendly and kind. I would stay there again:)

Located in Estreito de Câmara de Lobos and only 2.1 km from Vigário Beach, Vila Afonso provides accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Vila Afonso is a hidden gem - it was our little slice of paradise! The view and property itself are just out of this world, the property grounds are so beautifully maintained that it's wonderful to just lounge about in the garden all day. The owner was most helpful and kind, making sure that everything was in order, and he even provided us with lactose free milk for breakfast upon request!

Sunset House in Arco da Calheta provides adults-only accommodation with a garden, a terrace and barbecue facilities. The hosts were amazing! Super nice and very helpful. It was always very clean, the WiFi was great and the fruits and vegetables the host gave us from his garden were soooo good 😋
