We had 2 weeks in Iceland and travelled around the country. We stayed in 5 different locations, all special and unique. But Gljásteinn was a little corner of paradise. Róbert built his house with so much passion and love and respect for the nature around it, it is very impressive. He was there to guide us, to give us some good tips about where to eat, what to explore, and the whole experience was simply wonderful.

A small cabin on top of the hill -just doesn’t get any better than that.  And the cabinet south was very compact, but with good use of space. The bed was exceptional (and I never rave about holiday beds!).

Set on the Golden Circle Region in South Iceland, this property is 2 km from the famous landmark Kerið. Loved everything about this house! We had 6 adults so the 3 bedroom was perfect. The kitchen had all the amenities (and they stocked enough coffee for us!). The hot tub was very nice, too! We cooked dinner at the house 2 of the 3 nights- it was just great spending time with the family!

Offering barbecue facilities and mountain view, Gljúfurbústaðir Holiday Homes is set in Hveragerði, 49 km from Reykjavik Art Museum: Kjarvalsstadir and 50 km from Laugavegur Shopping Street. Absolutely amazing place! About 40 mins from Reykjavik, right on the edge of the golden circle with Gulfoss and the Geisers in easy reach. Beds where comfy and soft pillows and linen. Jon the host is fantastic and really helpful. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Located in Minni-Borg, within 41 km of Geysir and 43 km of Thingvellir National Park, Heathland Lodge provides accommodation with a terrace as well as free private parking for guests who drive. Gorgeous and modern place! It’s really short drive from the main road but very private so you will feel secluded so you can enjoy hot tub and sauna. Everything is well described from how to find it as well as house manuals. Also dressing gowns are provided.
