We had 2 weeks in Iceland and travelled around the country. We stayed in 5 different locations, all special and unique. But Gljásteinn was a little corner of paradise. Róbert built his house with so much passion and love and respect for the nature around it, it is very impressive. He was there to guide us, to give us some good tips about where to eat, what to explore, and the whole experience was simply wonderful.

A small cabin on top of the hill -just doesn’t get any better than that.  And the cabinet south was very compact, but with good use of space. The bed was exceptional (and I never rave about holiday beds!).

We had 6 adults so the 3 bedroom was perfect. The kitchen had all the amenities (and they stocked enough coffee for us!). The hot tub was very nice, too! We cooked dinner at the house 2 of the 3 nights- it was just great spending time with the family!

The living room is great to spend some time together in the evening after a long day travelling around the Golden Circle. The decor is a bit vintage, but it feels really cosy and totally worth the price. The apartment is well equipped for a shorter or longer stay. The city is quite small and the apartment is quite central, so you can easily access a great Food Hall for example. The host was really nice :)

Jon the host is fantastic and really helpful. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
