Providing lake views and a garden, Chuzenji Pension offers accommodation in a prime location in Nikko, within a short distance of Kegon Falls, Chuzenji Lake and Chuzenji Temple. The meals that were included in the stay were exceptional. Both the dinner and the breakfast were sumptuous.

Situated in Nikko, KINUGAWA KEISUI offers 4-star accommodation with a garden and a shared lounge. The facilities are super awesome, with free laundry, free minibar (even with alcohol!) provided. Female & Male public bath did interchange each other for evening and morning session, so we can enjoy both facilities. They even have massage chairs in the public bath area for free. Sadly if there is chance to purchase milk/ yogurt after onsen, it will be perfect! The breakfast and dinner are nice too. Breakfast is semi-buffet with quite a lot of salad & drink provided. When we mentioned one of us has certain food allergy, the manager checked in details to ensure everything is alright.

Located just 2.5 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Morinouta offers accommodation in Nikko with access to a garden, a terrace, as well as luggage storage space. Cute family run bed and breakfast. The mother and son duo (I believe) are professional and so caring. I ordered their Tochigi wagyu steak for dinner and it was one of the best meals I had in Japan. Incredible marbling of the steak and the complimenting dishes were amazing. The breakfast was also amazing and they even gave me a snack pack before I left. Amazing hospitable hosts that I would recommend for anyone. There are two private onsens available 24/7 on site too. Tobu bus stop right across the street for easy access.

Set in Nakagawa and only 10 km from Nakagawa Aquatic Park, Iizukatei offers accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. It was the first time we ventured out from a major metropolitan area in Japan and we are glad that we chose Iizukatei. The breakfast served in our room every morning was exceptional. The staff was super attentive and always went out of their way to help us with reservations, driving us around and arranging activities.

36 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine in Nikko, Minshuku Fukufuji offers accommodation with access to a hot spring bath. The food was so good and served in such an extraordinary way. Like we've never experienced. Incredible! Thank you so much.

Set 27 km from Shirakawa Station, Nasu Onsen Sanraku offers 5-star accommodation in Nasu and has an open-air bath, free bikes and a garden. This ryokan features free private parking and a lift. A special place that gave us a unique Japanese experience. Service was beyond words. I travel quite a lot and have never seen such hospitality. Each meal was special and unbelievably beautifully presented. We’ve tasted things that didn’t know existed. We had a room with a private onsen. It’s a bit pricey, but worth it if you already made it all the way there. The room was simple but very clean and comfortable. The public onsen is also nice, especially the outdoor pool.

Located right next to Kinugawa River and offering the views of the valley, Nanaeyae boasts open-air hot spring baths and delicately prepared seasonal Japanese course meals. The hot springs were wonderful.

Offering indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths, Kinugawa Onsen Hotel is located right by the Kinugawa Gorge. Free Wi-Fi access is available at the lobby. Best hotel I stayed in my trip to Japan. Incredible. Very spacious and comfortable. Super clean. Big place that even has simple, but cool night entertainment. The dinner buffet was some of the best meals we had in Japan, great quality. Samegoes for breakfast. The onsen was also the best we stayed in Japan, with 5 pools. You have a river with a waterfall from the balcony of your room. Leave the window slighty open to sleep to the sound of it. Guests wear yukata and kimono at all times. Full of japanese people, not many foreign tourists. Great experience.

Situated next to Lake Chuzenji, Hatago Nagomi is renovated in August 2017. The hotel features a restaurant, bar and free WiFi throughout the property. Free private parking is available on site. The stay was wonderful! The staff was incredible and so kind, they went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. We had the breakfast and dinner included and it was such a highlight! The food was incredible, I would highly recommend including it. This was one of our favourite places that we stayed in Japan. We can't wait to return!
