The open-air hot-spring bath at Fudoguchikan is available 24 hours, and separate per gender. The ryokan also houses a lounge, a shop and drinks vending machines. A variety of yukata robes are available for rent, and free parking is on site. The food (dinner 怀石料理) was amazing ! Every small course is so interesting and delicious ! The ryokan is also very near the Inunakisan hiking route, we did the 30 min hike to the waterfall and the temple which was a really beautiful walk. Plus there is also a shuttle bus service to Izumosano which was very convenient

Situated in Osaka, 700 metres from Matsunomiya Shrine and 1.1 km from Tsurumibashi Shopping Street, Suzuran Tengachaya offers free WiFi and air conditioning. At the ryokan, all units come with a tatami, a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom, bed linen and towels. A fridge and kitchenware are also provided, as well as a kettle. The units are equipped with heating facilities. The location is excellent for getting to the airport as the direct airport bus leaves from a hotel at the station, barely 5 minutes walk from the ryokan. The room was small but perfectly comfortable. They do not serve food, but there was a fridge, kettle, teapot and green tea as well as some Japanese snacks in the room. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, including the basement of a department store (not to be missed!) within the Uehonmachi station complex

Set in Osaka, 200 metres from Shimoyamatobashi Monument and 1.1 km from the centre, Hotel Yu-shu offers air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi, and a garden. This 3-star ryokan offers a lift and luggage storage space. The property offers soundproof units and is located 200 metres from Hoan-ji Temple. Good location, close to Dotonbori and other areas. Cleanliness was top-notch. They check and clean the room every day at around 9 AM (a bit early for some, but there’s a lock on the door you can activate, so that they can come back later). Tatami-flooring was in exquisite shape and was comfortable to walk on (without shoes, of course). Being that the guest sleeps in a futon on the floor, it could get a bit uncomfortable at times (but I think this is par for the course and a matter of habit). Just be aware that the check-in desk is not located at the same place as the building with the rooms.

Situated in Minoo, 10 km from Oohara Park, Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Minoh Kanko Hotel features accommodation with spa facilities, a public bath and an open-air bath. The property features mountain and city views, and is 9 km from Niiya Shrine. The ryokan has private parking, a hot spring bath and a 24-hour front desk. We love onsen, so the facility is fantastic. We enjoyed our stay from check-in till leaving the hotel.

A 5-minute walk from the Imazato Station on Kintetsu line and metro, Imazato Ryokan features affordable accommodations with a flat-screen TV and free WiFi. The Osaka Station is a 25-minute train ride away. Namba Station is a 10-minute train ride away. The breakfast is an absolute highlight. Traditional Japanese style with miso, rice and fish. The room was beautiful with traditional Japanese interior: Tatami-floor, low table, kimono and futon mattresses on the floor The ryokan itself is not the newest, and doesn't look modernised or fancy at all. I guess the bathroom, kitchen and interior is from the 80's or 90's. But it's calm, spacy and clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. We were travelling as a couple. Imazato Ryokan was definitely one of the best places we stayed during our 3 weeks in Japan. The neighborhood is a quiet residencial area. No tourists around, but still very easy to reach in walking distance from Imazato subway station. Please be respectful and friendly :)
