The whole family greatly enjoyed our stay in Hoshidekan: the breakfast was excellent, the staff always available and eager to help us feel at home. The room was quiet and comfortable as well.

The female owner has an inquisitive mind, a warm personality, and a kind heart. Her English is good enough to communicate and ask for help. The sauna and the private onsen in the room are top-notch. I did not check the public onsen with natural hot spring, but heard it's amazing too. I booked the 5th floor with an ocean view, and the private onsen experience during starry night and the set rise were indeed amazing! The hotel itself is located in a remote little cute fish town called osatsucho, where you can find fishmen and women harvesting and selling the Ise lobsters in the morning by the port. It was a very unique and interesting experience to stay in that little town for two days during the winter when it was not crowded at all. The nearest convenience store is 10 + miles away. It was a very natural, grounding, even retreat-like experience to me, and it was drastically different from my experience in Tokyo, Nayoga, or Osaka. I did spot a few demolished houses with broken windows in the town, not sure if it's because of COVID or during the winter when there were fewer tourists. The big plus is the Shinmei shrine next door to the hotel, which is a very calming and spiritual place to visit and stay for a bit too.

Hanashinsui offers outdoor and indoor hot spring baths and Japanese-style as well as Western rooms boasting magnificent mountain and ocean views. A very beautiful Japanese-style inn with an amazing view of the mountains and ocean. The onsen is an absolute delight, especiallywith the nature view. Staff is very friendly and treat you with so much respect, driving you up and down the mountain and providing a free iced drink when you go out.

Featuring public baths with views of Ise Bay and a Japanese restaurant, Oishiya is a 5-minute drive from JR Futaminoura Train Station. The traditional rooms have an attached bathroom. Just a great experience. Very delicious dinner and breakfast. All staff very friendly.

The breakfast was delicious. The food tasted very fresh. We especially appreciated that many of the food stations had attendants preparing the dishes. It got very busy at one point, but we never had an issue getting our food. The shuttle to and from Toba Station was very convenient. We contacted the staff from a payphone at Toba Station. We were able to communicate our needs through our very limited knowledge of the Japanese language. The driver took our luggage and said they would store it till we checked in. This allowed us to continue on with our sightseeing plans without physically going to the hotel first. That really helped maximize our time in Toba! Wonderful Service!

Conveniently located just a 2-minute walk from Iseshi Train Station, Hinode Ryokan is Japanese-style accommodation with a historic charm. Ise-jingu Shrine’s Geku (outer shrine) is a 5-minute walk... + Super helpful and accommodating hosts who go above and beyond for their guests. To give a few examples, they had granted my request of a 3-hrs earlier check-in time on the day I arrived in Ise, which there was a heavy downpour at the time, so being able to rest and relax in my room was a great comfort. Additionally, they had called in and helped me recover the souvenirs which I had carelessly left on the train, and even the manager himself had personally gone to the station on that same night in order to pick them up for me. + The location is just outside the Iseshi station for easy train & bus transit, as well as there are many restaurants which are all within walking distance from the Ryokan. + A simple, yet wonderful homemade breakfast that you'd expect to eat at a traditional Japanese household. + And lastly, they have a laundry room which is completely free to use as well as free bicycle rentals for even more additional savings.

Boasting hot spring baths and a beautiful garden overlooking the ocean, Toba International Hotel Shiojitei offers luxurious accommodation in Toba. A nice quiet hotel in a nice location if you use the hotel shuttle bus or don’t mind walking on a nice day. The service is excellent from checking to onsen to dinner and breakfast to checkout.
