Kii no Matsushima se encuentra en Kihokucho, a 50 km de Ubuta Shrine, y ofrece alojamiento con jardín, estacionamiento privado gratis y terraza. Very clean. The food was exceptionally good and super fresh. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful.

El OYO Ryokan Miya Yokkaichi Suizawa se encuentra en Suizawa, a 7 km del Gran Santuario de Tsubaki, y ofrece alojamiento con wifi gratis y estacionamiento privado gratuito. I was expecting ordinary cheap accommodation, but I got a pleasant stay in an old Japanese house. Bathroom and toilet outside the room, but extremely clean and comfortable. You can have breakfast or dinner in the bistro next door. There are tea plantations around, a beautiful environment. In the category of "cheap accommodation", it is absolutely exceptional.

El Owase Seaside View se encuentra en Owase, a 27 km del templo Seamount y a 16 km del LIVE CLUB Blue Moon, y ofrece alojamiento con bicicletas gratuitas, wifi gratis y estacionamiento privado... Amazing accommodations and amenities, beautiful view, a good onsen available basically all the time, and amazing food. I highly recommend booking the sea view room, and getting breakfast and dinner included. The quality of service blew us away. All the staff are extremely kind, and the dinners we had here were our favourites from our trip.

El Ryokan Otaya cuenta con WiFi gratuita y estacionamiento privado gratuito, y se encuentra en Toba, a 12 km del acuario de Toba. Este establecimiento alberga restaurant. I really like this place. The female owner has an inquisitive mind, a warm personality, and a kind heart. Her English is good enough to communicate and ask for help. The sauna and the private onsen in the room are top-notch. I did not check the public onsen with natural hot spring, but heard it's amazing too. I booked the 5th floor with an ocean view, and the private onsen experience during starry night and the set rise were indeed amazing! The hotel itself is located in a remote little cute fish town called osatsucho, where you can find fishmen and women harvesting and selling the Ise lobsters in the morning by the port. It was a very unique and interesting experience to stay in that little town for two days during the winter when it was not crowded at all. The nearest convenience store is 10 + miles away. It was a very natural, grounding, even retreat-like experience to me, and it was drastically different from my experience in Tokyo, Nayoga, or Osaka. I did spot a few demolished houses with broken windows in the town, not sure if it's because of COVID or during the winter when there were fewer tourists. The big plus is the Shinmei shrine next door to the hotel, which is a very calming and spiritual place to visit and stay for a bit too.

A lot of spectacular places in the vicinity. MeotoIwa is within about 20 km.

This place is a gem. It's walking distance from the Ise train station, and right along a nice shopping street, so it gets high marks for convenience. In addition to an onsen, our room had a separate soaking tub with hot water, which was absolutely great. We also got breakfast and dinner, which was absolutely delicious. It's a lot of food, but it's all beautifully prepared and the service is impeccable. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat!

Well maintained and clean rooms with great views. Very nice breakfast too. Hope to be back again. Special mention for personalised service by the lady receptionist on evening duty. My little son struck up a rapport with her. Unfortunately we did not get her name, but she mentioned that she has been in Toba for over a year. Thank you!

To start off, if you arrive at Toba Train Station between 1430-1800, they provide free shuttle service to the hotel, which otherwise would be a 20 minute walk. Look for their name beside their car. The staff were friendly to a fault and even if they can't keep up with English, they'd do anything to help you. The place is old, that's what you get for looking for an onsen ryokan but it's well maintained and the cuisine offered was faultless.
