Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya is located in Kusatsu. The property is a 10-minute walk from Kusatsu Yubatake and Kusatsu-Onsen Bus Terminal. Wauw, the stay was amazing. Even though we stayed only one night (because it is a bit expensive) we felt cpmpletly relaxed. The room was very spacious and pretty and the three private onsen baths were incredible. The staff made us feel at home and even gave us a free milk for after the onsen and a coupon for a free coffee.

This guesthouse is hidden gem during our 2 night stay at Kusatsu onsen with only 7-8 rooms & the environment is very cozy. The guesthouse was newly renovated & everything like new. We booked 4pax stay & the rooms condition is excellent. The staff service is good. We love it very much the onsen facility on this guesthouse. Breakfast provided were excellent. Nevertheless, this guesthouse is highly recommend during your visit to Kusatsu Onsen.

The owner is very friendly and welcoming and provided a lot of great insights to the history of the property. This was definitely the most unique stay we had in Japan and I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you Mr. Tendou!

I would highly recommend! There was a very homely atmosphere. The dinner was perfect and enough food for 2 days! Rooms were specious with a view on the stream. Next to the accommodation is a beautiful park with multiple footbaths and the street to the centre is filled with souvenir shops and unique eats. The staff were real accommodating, especially the hostes was exceptionally welcoming, sweet and lovely! The in-house onsen and sauna was extremely relaxing. 11 out of 10!

We had a lovely view of the mountains. The private onsen was very nice, but the public onsen is very good as well! The staff is very nice and always accomodating. If you like traditional Japanese food, you'll love what they serve during the evening and morning. I recommend to stay at this ryokan either during fall (momiji) or winter. We were a bit too early for the heavy snowfalls, but still managed to catch some snow the second evening. Even without the snow it was lovely. I can imagine it looks amazing with the fall colors!

Hanaingen is an adult only accommodation situated in Kusatsu, just a 2-minute walk from Yubatake, or the hot water field in Kusatsu Onsen. This was one of my favourite stays during my trip to Japan! Our twin room was cosy, comfortable and so clean. The beds were the comfiest we had in Japan; I had the most relaxing sleep while staying here. We absolutely loved the breakfast we had, and everyone at the hotel was so kind and friendly. Their hospitality was the highlight of the trip! We stayed two nights and the chef made us a different meal each morning, and took us through the dishes as he brought them to us, and we were given delicious welcome sweets and matcha when we arrived. The breakfast room was so cosy with a fireplace and free coffee and tea. The location is excellent and easy to find; it was only a couple of minutes walk to the bus terminal and to the Yubatake, which is where most of the shops and restaurants are located. The four private onsen are also wonderful. We got to try out two, and we never found that we had to wait or miss out on using one of them when we wanted to. I loved the little baskets containing towels, pyjamas and toiletries that we were given. There are plenty of toiletries available in each of the onsen, and the pyjamas were so comfortable I wish I could have brought a pair home!

This ryokan was the highlight of our trip to Japan. Excellent seasonal and varied breakfast options, with an attention to detail unparalleled in my travel experience. The soaking pools met our hopes and needs perfectly, and we preferred the private rooms to any of the town’s public onsens. Our room was very comfortable and quiet, and the location was great—away from the hustle and bustle of the main square. Staff were incredible—helpful, welcoming, and friendly despite our limited Japanese language skills! Would highly recommend for a quiet, peaceful stay.

The kaiseki cuisine was a memorable experience, the open air onsen was great, the staff gave good recommendations on places to visit in town and were super friendly. Small yet cozy town, will definitely come back again!

Located along Houshi River, Houshi Onsen Chojukan features a public hot spring bath, Japanese-style accommodations with free Wi-Fi and Japanese cuisine. The location is beautiful, the room was extremely relaxing, the baths and food were amazing. A person speaking English well seemed to have been responsible for me, and I felt comfortable asking him all of my questions, as this was my first experience of anything similar. I could use the baths although I have large tattoos. Could get there completely by public transport - although note that one of the buses runs on a different schedule than what google maps believes. The baths are not very large, so perhaps one should read beforehand on the expected behavior.

Oyado Tamaki offers indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths and a traditional garden with benches where guests can sit and relax in. Very nice location, wonderful service
