Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya is located in Kusatsu. The property is a 10-minute walk from Kusatsu Yubatake and Kusatsu-Onsen Bus Terminal. Amazing stay at this ryokan fully furnished , there was an amazing onsen in the room and 3 other onsens to use in the ryokan. The people working here are really welcoming and helpful ! Few things to know : the onsen water keeps flowing during the night which can disturb a little bit the sleep + there is a hill to go to the village but it is managable. Highly recommend for a great time in Kusatsu

Amazing facilities - big spacious room, very clean. The onsen is great with natural spring water, very clean and tidy, if a bit small but it’s no issue.

Ryutakuzenji tilbyder restaurant, gratis cykler, bar og fælles opholdsstue på Minowa. Ejendommens faciliteter omfatter døgnåben reception, fælles køkken samt gratis WiFi overalt på ejendommen. God atmosfære, sød Munk og god oplevelse med morgen meditation i tempel. Rigtig god aftensmad! Fri adgang til begrænset mængde drikkevarer om aftenen + fri adgang til at gå rundt i haven og omkring templet.

Kusatsu Hotel Bekkan Wata ligger i Kusatsu, 45 km fra Jigokudani Monkey Park og 14 km fra Kusatsu Shirane. No Yu (Adult Only) har aircondition. A homely hotel with the best dinner I have had in japan so far.

Minakamisansou ligger blot 36 km fra Gala Yuzawa Snow Resort og tilbyder indkvartering i Minakami med adgang til udendørs bad, fælles opholdsstue og elevator. We had a lovely view of the mountains. The private onsen was very nice, but the public onsen is very good as well! The staff is very nice and always accomodating. If you like traditional Japanese food, you'll love what they serve during the evening and morning. I recommend to stay at this ryokan either during fall (momiji) or winter. We were a bit too early for the heavy snowfalls, but still managed to catch some snow the second evening. Even without the snow it was lovely. I can imagine it looks amazing with the fall colors!

Sekizenkan Kashotei Sanso ligger 36 km fra Ishidan-gai-trappen og tilbyder 4-stjernet indkvartering i Nakanojo samt udendørs bad. AMAZING. If I could, I'd stay there at least once a week every month :") no wonder it was one of the references for the movie Spirited Away. The staff is really kind and understand English kinda well, even though the place is huge, they give you a map to find your room and how to find yourself in the complex building. We stayed in the Mori Room and it was definitely beyond our expectations. The room was so big, it felt like you were actually booking a spacious apartment to stay rather than only a room. Also, there were local snacks replaced daily and selected beverages at our disposal in the room, all for free. The view was incredible, especially when bathing in the private onsen in the room. They had sliding doors to cover the glass walls, so it wasn't too bright in the morning, unlike what many people complain when staying at a ryokan. And of course, the spotlight of our stay: They place you on a PRIVATE ROOM for the meals, with a relaxing ambient sound and a view of their garden while serving you a whole course of Japanese meal on the fancy side.

Houshi Onsen Chojukan ligger langs Houshi-floden og byder på offentlig varm kilde, indkvartering i japansk stil med gratis trådløs internetadgang og japansk køkken. This place is just on the top of my ranking. A real Japanese experience with all the necessary detail to make the stay unforgettable. The different baths super clean and with history. The meals offered were delightful. And the environment just as needed, calm, serene and peaceful.

Oyado Tamaki har indendørs/udendørs varme kilder og en traditionel have med bænke, hvor gæsterne kan sidde og slappe af. The property is near public transportation, which is a big plus for a solo traveller without a car. I took a room with a private onsen, which was really enjoyable. The dinner and breakfast were all excellent. The staff were very nice and accommodating. I really felt warm-hearted when they tried to explain the dinner menu in english and did a handwritten english translation of the breakfast menu. They also offered to drop me off at the bus station and reminded me when to expect the bus. It was incredibly sweet. I do love the area as it was a good break from the city’s hustle and bustle. The Ikaho footsteps is about a 5-minute walk. It has a lot of shops so it is a good distraction while climbing the stairs.

Boasting hot spring baths in a spectacular outdoor setting by Takaragawa River, Japanese-style hotel Takaragawa Onsen Osenkaku is a 10-minute drive from Hodaigi Ski Resort. Værelset var kæmpe stort og havde en dejlig udestue - virkelig skønt når man kommer fra de mikroskopiske hotelværelser i Japans storbyer. Utrolig smukt område!! Deres onsen område var langt større og flottere end vi havde drømt om. Helt magisk. Transport til og fra Jomokogen station gjorde det muligt nemt at komme t/r fra Tokyo. Kæmpe plus! Det var fint ikke at have eget bad, da vi bare gik i bad ved bruserne i onsen-området.
