Located in Kazuno, within 38 km of Appi Kogen Ski Resort, Yuze Hotel is an accommodation offering garden views. Liked it so much we stayed an extra night! Exceptional staff. They even dropped us at the train station in the morning so we could have an excursion. How this is only a 3 star hotel I will never know. Go here, you won't regret it. Amazing value

Situated in Senboku and only 15 km from Nyuto Hot Spring, Kashintei Shirahama features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. Meals were easily the most intricate and most sophisticated of all the Ryokans I've tried. They go out of their way to showcase Akita specialties, which I really appreciate as it means I need not travel to restaurants specially to try them. They provide a private dining room and I cheekily thought to myself that this is so you can lick your plate clean! Indeed it was so delicious that if the Michelin inspectors came, I am sure they will get a star. Best service out of all the ryokans I went to - everyone is super attentive and super responsive. On the booking.com app, they were the most prompt to respond to messages. They had good recommendations for me on what I could do around Lake Tazawako and the surrounding area. Other examples of exemplary service: They took the initiative to ask me if I would like a picture with my meal (as I was a solo traveller). How delightful! Out of all the ryokans I stayed in, this is the only one who did that. Another example: they asked me if they could clean my room while I am out. This is unlike other hotels and ryokans that instead ask if I would like my room cleaned (assuming that the default is no). The room was of a most excellent layout with good separation of different areas and a good size such that it makes you feel like you are living in your own apartment and not so much a resort. The bed was also very comfortable - there is something special about the bed linens. They were so refreshing to the touch and so comfortable. At every corner there are thoughtful gestures - a little bench for you to admire a view, the tatami flooring throughout. Every effort has been made to make it a special and premium experience. Even the toilet is larger than some of what I’ve seen and has charming and tasteful decorations. I am so glad I tried out Kashintei Shirahama and hope to be back!

Yukemuri no Yado Inazumi Onsen has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Yuzawa. This 4-star ryokan offers a 24-hour front desk and a lift. Top-tier luxury. This place is what you get when you give someone a very generous budget and ask them to dream up the most comfortable Ryokan they can think of. The whole place was in tatami mats and it was comfortable to walk about barefoot or with socks. The baths themselves were the best out of all the ryokans that I have tried. They offered a range of different shampoos and soaps, and multiple indoor and outdoor baths - ranging from stone/natural baths to wooden tubs. There is also a sauna and cold bath, and it is here that I discovered the adrenaline rush and relaxation that comes with alternating between a hot sauna and cold bath. There are also privates baths (yes there are two!) that are free for use, unlike other ryokans that charge you for them. There are free treats everywhere - ice pops and milk (my favourite!) at the baths, various snacks and drinks (coffee, various teas, vinegar drink and even beer and shochu!). Then at 10-10.30pm, you can get a bowl of ramen, with the Akita specialty: Fish Shottsuru. Best, most premium and complete bath amenities out of all the ryokans I have visited. They also have well-placed cold water dispenser and places where you can simply sit after your bath to enjoy the view. They also offer a "pillow library" where you can personally compare different types of pillows and choose the ones that you like best! Best facilities out of all the ryokans I've been to (perhaps to make up for the lack of things to do by way of local attractions and how isolated it is). There are traditional Japanese children's games, origami and even a quaint library. Layout of the room is great too - I like that there is a separate "reception" area where you can keep your bags and clothes separate from the main sleeping/living quarters. I also like the little table in front of the window - perfect for a quiet reflection.

7.6 km from Nyuto Hot Spring in Senboku, Aoni Sanso features accommodation with access to a hot spring bath, public bath and open-air bath. Nice place, nice onsen, good food! But you need a car to get to it!

Situated in Senboku and only 15 km from Nyuto Hot Spring, Katakurinohana features accommodation with lake views, free WiFi and free private parking. The location is strategic, close to Lawson and petrol station if you are driving and offer shuttle bus to train station. Public one is good, with one indoor and 2 outdoor pools with temperature around 41 degrees C for the indoor pool. And private bath is available, first come first serve, and nice lake view.

Situated in Daisen, 11 km from Omagari Station, Misato Town Community Lodge Wakuasu features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The 2-star ryokan is 26 km from Kakunodate Station.

Featuring free bikes, garden and views of mountain, Onsen Yupopo is located in Senboku, 33 km from Nyuto Hot Spring. This ryokan offers free private parking and a 24-hour front desk. Excellent onsen hotel. Great amenities and the large bath is open throughout the night (3pm to 6:30am). Great breakfast.

Set in Kazuno, 27 km from Lake Towada, Hotel Kazuno offers accommodation with free WiFi, mountain views, a garden, and access to a sauna and a hot spring bath. The Hotel is excellent, it is nearby lake Towada. It is great to have vacation during Fall.

Matatagpuan sa Senboku, 37 km mula sa Nyuto Hot Spring, ang Nishiki Onsen Kurion ay nagtatampok ng accommodation na may hardin, libreng private parking, at restaurant. I would say it's clean and cozy. Personally, I enjoy Japanese-style bedrooms, so it was good enough for me. It's also easy to get to Tazawako if you'd like to visit.

Situated in Senboku, 7.9 km from Nyuto Hot Spring, 田沢湖水沢温泉郷セルリアンリゾートAoni offers accommodation with ski-to-door access, free private parking and an open-air bath. The first thing that came to my mind was the food. Both dinner and breakfast were undeniably yummy for our liking. The place was well maintained, immaculately clean. Bedroom was spacious for the three of us. Futons were great. Staff members were helpful and able to speak English.
