The food was amazing the best sashimi I had in a while. The rooms were big enough for a family. The Onsen for family is just perfect for us with a baby. And the staff perfect.

Yukemuri no Yado Inazumi Onsen has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Yuzawa. This 4-star ryokan offers a 24-hour front desk and a lift. Guests also enjoy access to the sauna and hot spring bath, as well as the public bath and open-air bath. food was excellent with local specialties. staff did their best to translate and explain in english. free midnight ramen was a nice surprise. be sure to organize shuttle service from yuzawa in advance and be aware that currently many connections to the south and west are restricted due to heavy rain damage.
Senboku
7.6 km from Nyuto Hot Spring in Senboku, Aoni Sanso features accommodation with access to a hot spring bath, public bath and open-air bath. There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. The ryokan has family rooms. I booked one night with dinner & breakfast. I didn't try the breakfast, but the dinner was exceptional. Every single dish was very tasty and the entire meal extremely well balanced. The onsen is great as well. As soon as I arrived, they offered me to book a private onsen right away, though it's also okay to use the public onsen in the annex building. Everything was spotless clean, the onsen quality was very high and altogether this was a very pleasant stay. I definitely recommend the dinner.
Senboku

The location is strategic, close to Lawson and petrol station if you are driving and offer shuttle bus to train station. Public one is good, with one indoor and 2 outdoor pools with temperature around 41 degrees C for the indoor pool. And private bath is available, first come first serve, and nice lake view.
Daisen

Personally, I enjoy Japanese-style bedrooms, so it was good enough for me. It's also easy to get to Tazawako if you'd like to visit.

The house is beautiful and in a nice neighbourhood. We got a warm welcome and enjoyed the stay very much. The view into the garden was like in the picture - lovely. The tatami-room was elegant and cozy. We were happy to enjoy the hospitality of the host family. Arigatou gouzaimasu!
Everything about this place is wonderful - the hosts are such kind people, the house itself is really beautiful and interesting, with breathtaking views. An extra special touch was when the hosts made us a local hot pot banquet on the last night! The area is very beautiful with lots of walks and things to see. The private onsen in the house with views of the lake was wonderful after a day of exploring.
The dinner and breakfast buffets were really great, the staff attentive and very friendly. The surrounding mountains are impressive and the onsen bath with a relatively big outdoor part is great.
Hot spring was great.
The hotel is super conveniently located right next to the trainstation. It has a buffet-breakfast which is quite satisfactory and they have washing-machines available and the staff is very helpful, able to help with calling taxi-services to pick you up from, for example, a remote onsen.
Hotel is big & the Onsen’s water is so soft & makes your skin super smooth - BIG LIKE! You can also choose your own yukata upon checking in.
The guesthouse feels like a homestay. It's Japanese style with a spacious tatami living room, but with beds in the dormitory, very comfortable sleeping quarters. The toilet is in the garage just next to bedrooms, but there's no sink downstairs. You brush your teeth in the kitchen. There's a small oven and microwave, and tea bags. It's convenient to the Samurai street, and the onsen (700 ¥) is just 5 minutes away.
Good location. Good variety of breakfast. There is an onsen (common hot spring bath) on top floor with nice view. Good value for money.
