The Antigua Casona San Blas is a family-owned and operated boutique hotel in the historic center of Cusco with 50 rooms. Antigua Casona San Blas exceeded all my expectations. I stayed twice for 3 nights each. The staff was super friendly, every request was immediately met. The food the best in the whole of Cusco. The design beautiful but relaxed. The price extremely good value. Rarely ever do I stay in a hotel where there is not even a detail to improve (I did not try the Spa but participated in one yoga class which was very good).

It’s gorgeous, close to Macchu a Picchu for a day trip, gives you a chance to adjust to altitude rather than getting slammed in Cusco on arrival. Has its own ruins! Near loads of other cool places
Everything was within walking distance but take it slow. The altitude can really wind you. There are dogs running around and it's very cute. Check out Organika, Limbus Restobar, empanadas, the San Pedro Market(watch your bags and personal items), try Lucuma smoothies with mango or pineapple juice at the market, you can actually walk to Sacsaywaman and the religious status in about 30-45 minutes. The military lines up in the square on Sunday mornings. AVOID Jenly Tour company. If you have a limited amount of time, go to Maras y Maray(it includes how to dye the wool and pictures with alpacas) and skip Pisac. The natural history museum is only 3 soles but also only 1 room of you have some free time in the square. Remind yourself that the rest of Peru has a completely different vibe than Cusco. April rains were quite short. It's hot during the day and cold at night.
Cuzco is a lovely relaxing city with plenty to shop for. I really prefer cusco over lima as the traffic and noise (constant car horns) is a lot less. City is beautiful with plenty to do. I personally felt safe and i loved the resturants.
Nice enough selection but nothing you can't get in Cusco or other places much cheaper including the Machu Picchu items.
Hassled by street vendors constantly The local tour company we dealt with Quechuas Expeditions was very disorganized before our trek however we had an excellent 4 day 3 night trek on the Inka Trail. We found a wonderful coffee shop called Cusco Cafe- owned and operated by a husband and wife team The food was excellent and great value for the money.
It was the perfect place to stay. It was a little lower in elevation than Cusco so the altitude effects weren't as drastic. I will go again. Ordering a taxi is cheaper than the shuttle taxi the resort offers. The food was average. I really didn't find the spectacular restaurant but there is always next time.
My friend and I I hired a private taxi to take us there . Make sure you also walk around , behind the site, to get to the big cross overlooking the magnificent view of the whole city of Cusco surrounded by the majestic mountains . Breathtak
This was one of my favorite cities throughout Peru, wish we would have stayed here longer and less days in Cusco. We got lucky and were there for their yearly May Festival that lasts 4 days and according to the locals is the best festival of the year. There were a lot of traditional dances, food and fireworks. Our hotel was close to the ruins so far away enough to not hear the partying noise at night.
Cusco is a great jumping off point to several smaller places like Aguas Caliente or Pisac. Both little places have great markets and wonderful food. In Cusco tho, I loved the street venders and how willing they were to haggle with you. You could buy from them the same you’d find at Plaza de Armas for more than half the price. TikaSara restaurant was a lovely place. The alpaca is something everyone should try. Coffee and Crepes cafe was lovely. I could not get enough of their coffee! That’s a place that is boasted for their coffee and I was not let down.
There is so much to see and do. Lots of shopping opportunities for treasures to take home. Love Pachapappa for great food and meeting others, while traveling. Food in Peru is amazing! I crave it when home. You can walk far and wide around Cusco, best to do some sort, of altitude medicaton, to assist your body and make it easier. Cuzco is sade, if you play it smart. While traveling alonr don't wear flashy backpacks, jewelry and pay attention and you will have a great time.
We was a bit worried when we turned up as it said 'Hostel', however had a private room and bathroom and felt exactly like a hotel. Room was so cute, had 3 huge beds in and looked over the garden. The place was beautiful and so quaint. Staff were beyond helpful and friendly. They always had a chat with us and helped with tours/guidance. Great location, so close to Cusco town centre, less than 5 min walk. Breakfast is all freshly made, the lady running the kitchen is a true gem and made us fresh pancakes to start the day.
Machu Picchu
Hotel staff were incredibly kind. They held our luggage in a secure room prior to check in and helped us to navigate to the hotel, which is centrally located. We (10 people) had arrived early to Aguas Calientes to try and buy Machu Picchu tickets in person. We were unable to get tickets for the next day, so we decided to leave back to Cusco that night. We didn’t stay the night for that reason, but used the rooms for naps and showers. Rooms were clean. Beds were comfortable with warm blankets. Showers were hot. Solid place, good people.
Cusco
Everything we experienced went above our expectation. Vilma's local knowledge and extensive network would be a big plus during your stay in Cusco. Above all, her deeds full of caring, kindness, and authenticity touched our heart deeply. We consider Vilma as our best host compared to all others we met in Peru. She went beyond her host duty in so many different ways that made you treasure what a Peruvian soul could be. We will definitely come back and stay longer at her beautiful abode again.
Machu Picchu
Multilingual staff were really friendly and welcoming. When we returned from the trek to Machu Pichu, they let us shower in our room even though we had checked out. We really appreciated that as it made the journey back to Cusco bearable. Thank you! Large double room with private bathroom was comfortable and clean with views over looking a square and the mountains. Hostel has a bar, restaurant and some nice chill out areas. Would certainly recommend this place for a night or two.
Cusco City Centre, Cusco
This was by far the best property we stayed at during our month in Peru. The rooms are a great size with excellent shared facilities. They are conveniently located 2 minutes away from the San Blas Market (our favourite juice and sandwich spot in Cusco) as well as the rest of Cusco. Brandon was the most impeccable host, who helped us with everything from booking additional nights, luggage storage, recommendations etc. we couldn’t have asked for a better place to call home in Cusco.
Cusco City Centre, Cusco
We stayed here a few times during our time in Peru and it was a good reliable choice. The breakfast is nice and the kitchen facilities are available for the evening as well. We had a few different rooms, some better than others but all were ok. The location is nice, it's in central Cusco but a quiet location and no big hills to walk to reach it! It's a quiet hostel without much social atmosphere but was good for us as a couple. I would recommend it and would stay again.
The breakfast was delicious and elegant. The staff members in the hotel is nice and I feel so welcomed while studying. Especially thanks Saul who taught me how to make Pisco, it was a great experience. Thanks Freddy and Jefferson who show me round the hotel and explain clearly about the history and amenity of the hotel. Jefferson also recommended me some places to visit and restaurants to dine in Cusco. All the staff are amazing, definitely best memories during me trip in Peru.
Their hospitality! Impeccable! We wanted a day tour to Machu Picchu the first day and a city tour in Cusco the second day. Every single detail, including door-to-door transfers, private guides, breakfast boxes for very early departure (at 4 a.m. !) for Machu Picchu was taken care of! All the tickets were purchased, printed, awauting us at the reception desk! It was a fulk-fletched wonderful stay in this beautiful boutique hotel with delicious Peruvian coffee!
Cusco
The hostel was close to the main square (10-15 minute walk), walking distance to Peru Rail (if you are traveling by train to Macchu Picchu), hot water (shower), very secure, clean kitchen, great view from the terrace, staff was extremely helpful with my questions and booked my tours and bus to Puno for a reasonable price. They have all kinds of Tours available. Breakfast was simple. I would highly recommend this place if you are staying in Cusco.
Bed was super comfy. Shower was good and water hot. Room was pleasant temperature (not cold and freezing like others in Cusco). Service from lady at reception was exquisite. She helped me and friend with luggages (women power 💪🏻), she also helped to unblock toilet (this is common problem in general in Peru) and she brought us to room delicious breakfast in bed 👏🏻 she was just great! I believe name was same as mine, Alejandra.
I enjoyed a fantastic 3-night stay at the Rumi Punku Hotel in Cusco, Peru. The hotel's location was ideal, being very close to the center of the city but in a quiet location away from the loud hustle and bustle. This made it incredibly convenient to explore all the amazing sights and sounds that Cusco has to offer. I had a wonderful time at the Rumi Punku Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cusco.
Hotel & Mirador Los Apus is in a great location in the historic district of Cusco. Everything (the cathedral, the best restaurants in Cusco, the central square, the food market etc.) is walking distance while simultaneously providing a calm, quiet and safe experience. The staff is excellent and very warm and friendly. The morning breakfast is healthy, nourishing and delicious.
Cusco City Centre, Cusco
Hotel is completely family run. They did their best to make for a pleasant stay and seem to take great care of their B&B. Bed was comfortable and lots of layers of blankets were provided, much needed during the cold nights (indoor heating isn't that common in Cusco). Shower had hot water, and rooms were very secure. It's also an easy location to explore the city from.
Wakapunku Boutique Hotel in Cusco exceeded all expectations! The hosts went above and beyond to ensure our stay was exceptional. When one of us fell ill, they promptly arranged for medical assistance, showing incredible kindness and dedication. Their hospitality truly made our trip unforgettable. Highly recommend this oasis of care and comfort in the heart of Cusco!"
Cusco City Centre, Cusco
Definitely one of the most affordable options we found in Cusco. It’s a basic place, but the staff was incredibly kind—among the best we encountered during our trip to Peru. The location is close to the center; even if it feels a bit out of the way, it’s just a 5-minute walk to the main square. Recommended for anyone looking for a budget-friendly stay in Cusco.
This was our first stop on a 10 day trip in Peru and it was great. The front desk let us drop off our bags a little early allowing us to explore Cusco. The room was what we needed and the breakfast was wonderful. It's centrally located making it easy to walk to the Plaza and explore the ruins nearby. I would highly recommend for anyone stopping in Cusco.
In terms of value for money and customer service, Matara Greens Hotel is an excellent choice for anyone visiting Cusco. We were so impressed by Hugo and his colleague at the hotel. We had a few small issues with buses and check in times but Hugo accommodated us for everything. He even prepared a breakfast for us at 3am when we set off for the Inca Trail.
A lovely hotel, clean and well presented with beautiful gardens and friendly staff. The location is excellent, it’s in a quiet spot just behind Ollantaytambo train station and a short walk from the main centre of Ollantaytambo. We chose Ollantaytambo as our first stop in Peru (instead of Cusco) as it’s lower in altitude and closer to Machu Picchu.
Hotel Waynapicchu exceeded our expectations. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was cozy and breakfast the best we ate so far in Peru. Location is excellent - it's a walking distance from the historic district, but if you arrive/depart Cusco by Train Titicaca, it's only 4 minutes on foot from the train station.
Cusco City Centre, Cusco
The view of Cusco was lovely as the lodging was high above the city. The lodging was also located on the walkway to Christo Blanco and Sacsayhuaman. Angela the property manager was very helpful and accommodating, securing us the BEST DRIVER EVER. We used Walter throughout our 2 week trip to Peru. He was exceptional.
