Located in the centre of Cusco, Casa Matara Boutique is set 1.4 km from Wanchaq Train station and 500 metres from Santo Domingo Church. When you enter the hotel, you can feel a comfortable atmosphere. The decorations are really cozy and distinctly Peruvian. The staff members are kindness personified. I had a bout of altitude sickness, and they took care of me with a warm heart, showing genuine concern for my condition. The breakfast was also excellent! The room was clean, and the bathroom was spotless. Additionally, when we went to Machu Picchu, we were able to leave our baggage at the hotel. If I ever visit Cusco again, I will definitely choose this hotel. I will always remember the warm-hearted staff. Thank you so much.

Situated in Cusco, 3.1 km from Wanchaq Train station, Way Kap Hostel Cusco features accommodation with a garden, private parking, a shared lounge and a bar. The hotel's location is very close to the historic centre with many restaurants, shops and even the market nearby, but it's situated on a quiet street so it's perfect for a peaceful rest after long treks and tours around Cusco and the sacred valley. The 24h reception is very handy for those coming or leaving at late/early hours. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and every well informed to answer any questions about tours, landmarks, transport. They had great recommendations for good restaurants or street food and traditional dishes. Royer and Sebastian helped me with very detailed info about where to go and what to see in Cusco and were always availabe to help with anything. I had to leave very early for a two-day trek and I was able to ask in advance for a packed breakfast and to store my large backpack there for a night. The hostel has a lathe dinning area, a well equipped comunal kitchen, they offer free coca tea and other types. It had a large comunal area with great light and also a darker games room to play movies or PlayStation. The breakfast included is very yummy, with many options of fruit, cereals, jam, ham and cheese, eggs or panakes, as well as juice and coffee or tea. The hostel was very tidy and cleaned every day and the bathrooms and showers were also spotless with great hot water pressure. The dorm beds were comfy and arranged in a capsule style with curtains, which gave you a lot of privacy. Each bed had it's own large locker. I enjoyed it so much that I stayed in the Way Kap Hostel in arequipa and got a discount showing my bracelet. I definitely recommend and would stay here again!

The natural starting point for any visit to Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. We did not have time to see a lot of the city, even with three nights there before our Inca trail. Registration and briefing for the Inca trail and doing a half-day tour to the Salinas salt mines and Moray, left only a few hours for sightseeing. We strolled down some streets in downtown Cusco, among a myriad of honking cars (that will never ever stop for a crossing pedestrian even if you have a green light) and beautiful, old buildings. Give yourself at least three nights on this altitude before doing the Inca trail, and add more days if you want to see more than the city itself. Avoid tourist restaurants (inflated prices and mediocre food) and to one of these two options instead: 1) the city market includes a range of food stalls that at least are open around lunch time. Ask the price before you order. We paid 6 soles (less than 2 USD) for a big plate of fried rice, cooked banana, sausages, a fried egg, French fries and a salad - wonderfully delicious. The market hall is full of people and life. Just sit down on one of the food stall benches, eat and enjoy Peruvian life. 2) Leave the main touristy streets, enter a more quiet street at random and find a small, local restaurant. They are often very simple (fast food looking) and some don't offer many options, but you get great food (and a lot of it) for very little money). The standard plate is 1/8 or 1/4 chicken (ask for the part you want: pierna = leg, pechuga = breast), rice and salad. You will usually be given a salad and some local salsas, and sometimes a soup as well, even if none of these things are listed on the menu. The market is also a fantastic place to find gorgeous, cheap and good-quality items made of alpaca, such as sweaters, blankets, gloves, hats, scarves and more. There are a myriad of stalls both inside and outside the market building. Ask your hotel where the market is.

The hotel is in an amazing location...on the smaller square, one block from the Plaza de Armas. The hotel was nice and clean. Breakfast was great as far as hotel breakfasts go and the staff was very friendly and helpful. And to top it off it was a great value! We live about 1.5 hours away and visit Cusco often. We had been looking for a hotel that we loved that was a good value and we found it!

This place was remarkable!!! They updated our stay because my fiance proposed at Machu Picchu and they gave us a phenomenal view of the mountain side. The breakfast was spectacular and it came with our stay. They placed chocolate covered strawberries in the room as well and spoke about the area and what there was to do near by. They also helped us with our train arrangements as well as our tour arrangements of the mountain. Everything was sanitized and cleaned to covid standards and Maria (the Concierge) as well as the rest of the staff were so kind and so amazing. Remarkable

Such a beautiful property. We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is lovely - serene and calm and the perfect place to stay for Sacred Valley. The gardens are very peaceful and quiet Our room was great - large and really well appointed and very relaxing. The breakfast was fantastic - lots of choice and the Spa was fantastic. The gym is also excellent. The team were all very good but a special mention to Andres, Luis, Wally and Diana who took great care of us and delivered exceptional personalised service. I had a treatment at the Spa with Yesica who was also fantastic .

The breakfast was delicious and elegant. The staff members in the hotel is nice and I feel so welcomed while studying. Especially thanks Saul who taught me how to make Pisco, it was a great experience. Thanks Freddy and Jefferson who show me round the hotel and explain clearly about the history and amenity of the hotel. Jefferson also recommended me some places to visit and restaurants to dine in Cusco. All the staff are amazing, definitely best memories during me trip in Peru.
Fabulous location with walking distance to great restaurants, museums, and shopping. Exceptional staff. Bonus was a very good restaurant with breakfast buffet, also spa with wonderful massage service.
We had a very relaxing stay- we had planned for one night, but extended it to two nights as we enjoyed the property so much The rooms/cabins are very large/ Nice bathrooms and beds with patios We ate all of our meals there and enjoyed all of them (I am vegetarian and liked all of my options/ my husband who is not vegetarian also equally enjoyed the meals) They have a few activities each day, we enjoyed a short hike and learned about the local community, plants and birds In the afternoon, they have a nice tea time with small snacks- For planning- it takes 1.5 hours from the airport/ plan a ride in advance- it is about $50 for a couple from Cusco The local area has a few popular tourist places to visit though we did not take advantage of these as we just enjoyed staying there The Sacred Valley was an adjustment in altitude for us (we are from Nebraska) and it was nice to acclimate there, before staying in Cusco and ultimately hiking the Salkantay trail.
