Located in Owaka, Catlins Inn offers a bar. The hotel also provides free WiFi and free private parking. All units in the hotel are fitted with a flat-screen TV. The 3 bedroom unit was clean, spacious and internal access to bistro and bar was great for rough weather. The room had a large covered deck with picnic table was a great spot for leaving muddy boots or sitting in the sun. Staff were friendly helpful and efficient would definitely recommend and come and stay again. Meals were amazing at the bistro

Catlins Retreat B & B is situated in Owaka. Featuring garden and quiet street views, this guest house also includes free WiFi. Guests can access the guest house via private entrance. Lovely and relaxing place to stay. We were warmly welcomed into a space that is comfortable and spacious. What I particularly liked was that there was attention given to details which may seem minor, but really do make a difference. Things such as having soft and fluffy towels, hot drink packets topped up daily, bathroom amenities and so forth. It is really convenient to the rest of the town, and is a great base for exploring the Catlins as the drive to various destinations is not too far and Owaka has a number of places to eat at. Definitely book in here!

It was so nice to have the bread available in the freezer--expecially since there are very limited places to eat in that location. It was spectacularly beautiful and very comfortable

Seascape Accommodation has 2 modern apartments, all fitted with quality furnishings, free WiFi, a Smart TV and views across the ocean to the Nugget Point Lighthouse. The view, ocean front location, and value for the money can't be beat! The room has a couch facing the wall-to-wall sliding glass door/windows which look out to the Kaka Point beach. Communication with the owner was great. The room had a separate living area/kitchenette and bedroom. They left chocolates for us on arrival which was nice.

So much to like about this property. Comfortable queen bed, nice linen and towels, heaps of space, really comfortable lounge and dining furniture, well-equipped kitchen with large fridge and convection microwave, quiet street, great beach and headland views. Sunny unit with everything clean and modern. Terrific location at the northern end of the Catlins and only 10 minutes drive from Nugget Point carpark. Fresh towels provided after two days was an unexpectedly nice touch.
Kaka Point
The view was lovely, the chairs and bed were very comfortable and it was great to soak in the spa by candlelight after our days exploring all the wonderful places the Catlins has to offer. The Point Cafe and Bar is a short walk away. We enjoyed a meal there on our first night and had their take out blue cod and chips on the second night - the best we’ve had in New Zealand! We have already recommended KP Spa to family and friends and would stay here again without hesitation.

The motel was very comfortable, located close to all facilities in Owaka. The hotel was homely and had all facilities we needed. We were greeted with fresh muffins by the proprietor who ensured the unit was to our liking. Heating was more than adequate for the weather. Given other accommodation options in the Catlins were scarce, we were more than happy to find such a good motel.

Great location while passing through to the Catlins. Walking distance to dinner at The Point bar and Cafe that offered delicious meals. Beautiful views of the sea and Nugget Point. Warm and cosy and loved the breaky options in the Apartment ohhh and the option to watch Netflix on a overcast evening.

Amazing location and views provided a great base for exploring all of the Catlins. A reasonable price for this type of motel accommodation in the area. Well set up for self catering with electric frypan, microwave and hot plate. Beds were comfortable and the unit was very clean and well presented.

Large comfortable room with ensuite. Located in the heart of the Catlins and walking distance to hotel and Lumber Jacks restaurant.. Jill was a very informative host.

This place had a great view of beach and was a good place to stay to explore the Catlins. It was modern and comfortable with good facilities.

The location was just lovely - so close to the beach and enough off the beaten track to feel totally away from it all, yet close enough to all the Catlins has to offer in terms of wildlife viewing and walks. It was also very quiet at night and the hosts were very friendly and helpful.
What an absolutely beautiful setting. The house is nestled in the fields and lots of curious sheep to watch over you. We loved it, we had everything that you would expect with so much old world charm.
Everything was perfect. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies, including breakfast foods. The location couldn't be better - a five minute walk to the beach and an easy drive to surrounding attractions. It was so quiet and private.
Our cabin, Kaku, surrounded by trees and birdlife, overlooked rolling green fields dotted with sheep and the surrounding hills. It was so peaceful. Within 2 minutes walk were magical forest paths lined with magnificent tree ferns, crown ferns and undisturbed vegetation. The cabin was beautifully decorated, and contained books on the area, games, a well equipped small kitchen with a barbecue on the balcony. The old house on the estate was built in the 1920s and creates a feeling of timelessness. The owners helpfully supplied local history and tourist information and were so welcoming. We would have happily stayed longer in this unique oasis of tranquility and nature and would recommend it to anyone who appreciates these special qualities.
