The location was great, it had all the facilities we needed and had a lovely view of the beach. Check in was super easy and we felt right at home.

Absolutely stunning accommodation! Right by the beach, warm, sparkling clean, and spacious. In fact, 1 room was spacious enough for a family of 4 (we had to book 2 rooms but 1 would fit a family of 4), I wish they allow a family of 4 (2A 2C) to stay in 1 room.
They put a roll out bed for 1 child., it worked perfect for our 2 kids.
It also included 1 L milk for each room, an air fryer, and oven microwave. Would be handy for longer stay.

The room was nicely decorated and the lounge chairs were extremely comfy. Nice bath products available. The owner was very friendly and helpful. But the best thing was the amazing ocean view, it was incredible!

The apartment was really big and spacious, with comfortable beds and furnishings and a really well equipped kitchen.
Great location in the little town centre, and attached to a pub which served really good food, either to eat in the pub, or to takeaway.

Room was nice with some timber ceiling, Good greenfields view from balcony. Ample parking and guest car cleaning hose appreciated. Guest laundry also helpful.
Guests staying at Catlins Newhaven Holiday Park are a 5-minute walk from Surat Bay, a long sand beach in Newhaven, where you may be lucky enough to see a Hooker Sea Lion.

Kaka point is a perfect base for visiting the Catlins if you have a week because then you can make day trips to the many waterfalls, beaches, lighthouses and historical sites without rushing or getting exhausted. Kaka point itself is peaceful and wildly beautiful at this time of year but you need to go prepared as there is no proper store and only one eating venue which is quite expensive.

The whole of the Catlins is a treat for locals and international travellers alike. Be captivated by the beauty of the landscape and wildlife, while soaking up the quaint, sleepy town feel of Kaka Point. A lovely beach with a cafe/shop/restaurant so ideal for families. Easy to reach nugget point from there. Bear in mind it’s at the eastern end of the Catlins so if you want to explore places further west, eg Curio Bay, you will have quite a drive. On the other hand Balclutha is only a 15 min drive which is handy for stores and food shopping.

Beautiful location and very close to Nugget Point Lighthouse which is a must see for all travellers. Would have liked to stay longer and try swimming. The beaches looked very inviting. Clifftop views around the lighthouse are breathtaking

Lovely location, close to Nugget point. The local cafe was lovely. No petrol stations, nowhere to get breakfast you have to travel to balclutha or Owaka for breakfast if you don’t self cater. Great place to locate yourself while in the catlins

Stunningly beautiful with Sandy beaches and sea lions. Just a fabulous area not to be missed for nature lovers. Short drive to the nuggets and roaring beach with a chance to see the yellow eyed penguins. (Dawn /dusk) but bring bino’s.

We stayed with 4 people (my parents, my aunt and myself) in this wonderful apartment. Great value for money. Brand new, well equipped and clean with stunning views over the ocean from almost ever room including a generous deck where you can relax and take in the beauty of Kaka Point and surroundings. Loved every detail from the easy self-check-in and fresh fruit in the fridge.
Also just a short drive to Nugget Point Lighthouse with great chances of spotting wildlife along the way.

Great Stay in Kaka Point
We had a wonderful stay at Jared & Karla's place. The property was exactly as described in the listing and it was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Not to mention, it's just a short drive from the beach! If you're looking for a cozy and relaxing stay in Catlins, I highly recommend this place.
Fabulous unit well appointed and great views of the beach and Kaka Point. Easy walk down to the Point Bar & Restaurant - only wish had been staying a couple of nights. Nugget Point very handy too
