Good wifi and excellent privacy curtains. Great beach access just across the street. Loved hearing the surf pounding on the beach. Kaka point is a perfect base for visiting the Catlins if you have a week because then you can make day trips to the many waterfalls, beaches, lighthouses and historical sites without rushing or getting exhausted. Kaka point itself is peaceful and wildly beautiful at this time of year but you need to go prepared as there is no proper store and only one eating venue which is quite expensive.

A lovely beach with a cafe/shop/restaurant so ideal for families. Easy to reach nugget point from there. Bear in mind it’s at the eastern end of the Catlins so if you want to explore places further west, eg Curio Bay, you will have quite a drive. On the other hand Balclutha is only a 15 min drive which is handy for stores and food shopping.

Beautiful location and very close to Nugget Point Lighthouse which is a must see for all travellers. Would have liked to stay longer and try swimming. The beaches looked very inviting. Clifftop views around the lighthouse are breathtaking

Lovely location, close to Nugget point. The local cafe was lovely. No petrol stations, nowhere to get breakfast you have to travel to balclutha or Owaka for breakfast if you don’t self cater. Great place to locate yourself while in the catlins

Stunningly beautiful with Sandy beaches and sea lions. Just a fabulous area not to be missed for nature lovers. Short drive to the nuggets and roaring beach with a chance to see the yellow eyed penguins. (Dawn /dusk) but bring bino’s.

Everything! Seaside Apartments is a real gem. Located directly across from the beach. The apartments are modern, extremely well equipped and have super comfy beds. Our host left us little treats and was friendly and easy to communicate with. Kaka Point is just 10km from Nugget Point - a highlight of our visit. Kaka point beach is suitable for swimming and it's just across the road. I would highly recommend and would definitely book again but for longer next time so we had more time to enjoy our comfy accommodation.
Great studio, very good location in Kaka Point with superb sea view. Friendly hosts. Great location to explore Nugget Point, Owaka and nearby beaches with sea lions, and yellow-eyed pinguins.
