The perfect spot to stop for the night when your exploring the Catlins. Rooms we a very reasonable price, especially seen as it was New Yeara eve. The food in the pub was excellent. I highly recommend the Catlins Burger.

She welcomed us very plrsently.
Her house is over 100 years old and she kept it like it was in the old times.
All the dishes were so pretty and so orgenized.
Breakfast was also very good.

The location right in Owaka township was very good, so quiet and just down the road to the excellent local museum and shops. The unit was perfect for 4 of us, me, my sister and her two young children, the only problem was the fold down couch was very hard and made sleeping difficult. So we put and extra duvet on the padding and my nephew slept on it. The other beds were super comfy.

We also found a wonderful store that did Fabulous meals and very special decorated ice creams. Now we had been total there wasn't anything within 10 kilometers away.
This was within walking distance around the corner petrol too.

Remote and quiet location with good road access, beautiful views from the cottage, very comfortable, cozy and tastefully decorated. Everything is there for convenience, but you have to bring your own food, it was helpfully mentioned by ownwrs prior arrival.
A lot of walks in the area, waterfalls etc.
Books, board games, DVDs or just break from busy life - whatever taste.

Loved Lost Gypsy caravan and coffee beside it. Great place for kids and the Adult section well worth entry fee.
Cathedral caves and view from Florence hill exceptional. Lake Wilkie a treat. Papatowai has my vote for the best in the Catlins.
