Situated in Nyaung Shwe, 300 metres from Mingala Market, Trinity Family Inn provides rooms with air conditioning. This 3-star inn offers free WiFi. A more than magnificent accommodation! The rooms are housed in beautiful bungalows, with huge spaces for sleeping and in the bathroom, including a large desk and a beautiful outdoor patio with chairs and tables. The breakfast is nothing short of magnificent! In addition to the option of having toast with jam, fried or omelette eggs, and pancakes, every day a different fresh fruit juice is provided, along with the opportunity to taste a local dish for an authentic Myanmar breakfast experience! The lady managing the property speaks good English and is super helpful in organizing boat trips, visits to the Red Mountain vineyards, and bus reservations. Some bicycles are always available free of charge to explore the area comfortably. Upon arrival, the lady and her family (all super super super kind!) provide a useful map of the area with many helpful tips, including where to go for dinner with local food. Without a doubt, the best accommodation of my trip to Myanmar, I was really sorry to have to leave this beautiful hotel. And if I ever manage to return to Inle Lake, I already know where to stay because I hope so much to meet this spectacular family again!
Nyaung Shwe
Song of Travel Hostel is situated in Nyaung Shwe, 1 km from Mingala Market and 5 minutes' walk from Nyaung Shwe Bus Station. It features a rooftop lounging area where guests can enjoy cocktails. I loved being treated like family at SOT - from the messages I exchanged with Fiona the owner, to the care and help to book bus tickets, a boat trip and a private driver to the hotpools and Kalaw. Shwe the manager is super friendly and helpful, along with the whole staff there. The food was great, alot of Korean meals. I must have eaten half my meals there! I also ate local breakfasts thanks to Shwe, which I loved. My dorm bed was super clean and spacious - bathrooms are clean and plentiful. Love the rooftop which catches beautiful sunrises and sunsets, cool breezes and great views. Free bikes allowed me to roam Nyaung Shwe easily. There's the Red Mountain winery nearby, which has great views and a stunning sunset. Jesu ba for a wonderful first time visit to Inle! I will be back in July with my son and 2 friends!

Good place to stay to access inle lake. Nothing special about the town but gave an opportunity to get a feel of a Burmese small town.
Although it's touristy, it's a lovely small town with the relaxed atmosphere typical of Shan State. The market has local silver for bargain prices and a great noodle stall in its centre. You can eat very cheaply at local spots or indulge in proper coffee and cocktails and the tourist cafes and bars. The new night market is a fun spot for dinner and a drink. Inle Lake itself is my favourite day trip. It's so interesting to see people living on the lake and the scenery is stunning. Bamboo Hut restaurant is 30 mins bike ride south of town and is well worth a visit (cycle through fields and villages rather than along main road). The vineyard is just down the road if you fancy a drink after lunch. Both places have stunning views.
Coffee Club do good coffee. Too much going to local handicrafts on our trip to Inle Lake so might be better to take one with guide ifyou do not want that. Would cost you more.
Nyaung shwe is the city from where you can start research of unique Inle lake and another places of Shan state. Multiple transports (boats, buses, taxi) are highly available. We also recommend coffee Genius grown in Shan state hills and selling out in touristic center on the waterfront
We got bikes out from a little shop on the road nexterm to gypay Inn for 1,500 kyat It was a bumpy cycle to the hot springs which took about an hour. The hot springs are expensive (13,000 kyat) and not very natural. It was full of families and couples chilling out. We cycled back to gypsy inn, stopping at a great little restaurant on the corner. Amazing tomato salad and fried rice complete with fried egg. The owners were so nice and even gave us a free donut to give us energy for our cycle home. It's hard to describe where the restaurat is but it's on its own on a corner of the road that comes straight from the little town where gypsy inn is. We also got a one day boat tour of inle lake. It was nice but a bit of a tourist trap of stopping by shops and being pressured to buy things. The views from the boat are lovely and you feel like you're in the jungle book. The pagoda ruins are a must see. So beautiful.
Lots of great little restaurants - at least near the Manor Hotel where I stayed. Entrance to Inle Lake which we found fascinating to visit. Loved the boat trips around the lake. Lots of birds. The people were very friendly and welcoming - everyone waved when we passed boats.
Inle lake is a must do activity and I did visit twice. The best sunset watching at Red Mountain vineyard. Ginki Cafe is great place to dine. Shan Noodle at the night market is the best compare to other stalls or restaurants.
INLE Lake is a must see and do in Myanmar Rent a boat (fair prices) and Go place on and near the Lake. Eat in Restaurants in the lake on that are build on stilts. In town there is also good food and bars. Minus is You pay a fixed taxi rate from airport to town 25K en back 17K also a 5-day mandatory tourist accespass 13.5K/person is a big minus.
Nyaung Shwe is about 45 minutes away from Heho airport and most accommodations there are a 5-10 min walk from the jetty. Boats depart from Nyaung Shwe jetty to take you to explore the various floating villages and gardens on the maginificant Inle Lake. While it isn't so common for tourists to encounter theft here, we were unfortunate victims of it and it dampened our experience here. The locals however were very helpful in contacting the tourism police for us. Try to stay in an accomm where the owner speaks fluent English as not many people in Nyaung Shwe do. This will be a huge asset should you encounter trouble like us. Eat at Lotus Restaurant, located a 10 min walk from the jetty and just behind Trinity Family Inn (we highly recommend this for your stay)!
Nyaung shwe is a great town to stay to explore inle lake. It is easy to arrange a boat trip and other local tours from any of the tour agent shops around town. It is worth shopping around before booking as we did find a big difference in prices. The town is easy to explore by foot but many hotels and shops offer bike rental. The town also has many pagodas and temples as well as being home to many buddhist monks. Walking around the streets and markets is a great way to experience local culture.
The staff are absolutely wonderfull. Helpful and always with a smile. The room was huge and spacious and the bed comfortable. On my last day the lovely owner made me a hamburger before my flight back to Yangon. Breakfast was perfect and abundance and gets you through the whole day. Also it is near the jetties for the Inle lake starting point on the boats. Good shops around and restaurants. Markets close by. You must try the winery!!!! Well worth the visit. Thank you to everyone at the Sandalwood Hotel….

This was probably my favourite stay in Myanmar. Everything about it was perfect and we didn't want to leave. The family were amazing and so accommodating. We had dinner here every night and it was always a massive treat. The mother is a fabulous cook! They can arrange boat tours and taxis for you. Our favourite part was sitting on the balcony and enjoying the peace and quiet; the best location in Inle Lake. We will definitely be back here and miss it already!
Nyaung Shwe
This became my favourite place in Myanmar - the hosts were very nice, hospitable and helpful in every situation we faced. We had a huge home-made breakfast every morning! The bungalows.were spacious with all the amenities for a good stay. Extremely clean! The terrace and the garden were peaceful and pleasant for late afternoon rest 😊 I could definitely recommend Trinity Family Inn for everyone who is looking for a warm home environment in Inle lake!
