All Toyoko Inn are similar, I guess. They are good for a short stay and that's it. This one in particular is located right next to the train station (a Shinkansen stop), so I guess it's a good alternative as a temporary stop when going to Kanazawa or Niigata, although I wouldn't recommend it. The TV has some interactive information, including some local information and videos (at least in Japanese). You can leave your bags in the reception after checking out if you need to.

The Niigata Grand is an older but still beautiful hotel. The rooms were very comfortable and VERY reasonably priced. The breakfast was excellent - whether the Japanese or Western version. The location is also great. Any easy walk across the Bandai Bridge to shopping and restaurants and a quick cab ride to the Shinkansen station. One of the staff was a native English speakers and was extremely helpful. Bottom line an excellent value and a wonderful stay.

The breakfast buffet was good with both Japanese and Western options. It was conveniently located close enough to Niigata station that we could walk there. It's also super close to several main restaurant and bar streets, so we were able to enjoy some fun nightlife too. We ended up renting a car to get to more remote locations around Niigata and the staff helped us pay for parking, and find parking when their lot was full for the night.

Staying at red fox lodge was unforgettable! With the chairlift right at the door, it couldn’t be more convenient. The lodge’s authentic Japanese charm, cozy clean rooms, and fantastic facilities like the drying room and ski storage made every day a joy. Waking up, having breakfast, and jumping straight onto the gondola? Pure magic. Great communal spaces, a fun bar, and Niigata’s famous snow made it even better.

Splendid breakfast. How often do you have your Japanese omelette prepared by the hotel executive chef. Do stay for dinner in their Japanese restaurant, exceptional food, service and value. Hotel does a lot of banquet business in Niigata, I think that’s why they have a strong f&b team. After trying their dinner offerings we went back again and tried other menu options and we weren’t disappointed.

Comfortable business hotel in a lively neighbourhood (so many restaurants!) and super convenient if you're heading to the train station. The breakfast buffet was excellent and had a large variety of dishes, some excellent Niigata rice of course, and I was pleasantly surprised by the size of it compared to the usual business hotel buffet. The room itself was compact but cosy, no complaints.

A family friendly onsen ryokan with great Japanese hospitality. Staff are very accommodating towards children. The meals (breakfast and dinner) are great - as per Niigata standards, they had 3 kinds of white rice for breakfast. They had a adequate sized outdoor bath and a big garden, which are really pretty. There are even 2 sheeps in the garden for petting. The kids had a great time here.

The hotel was very handy to all that Niigata has to offer. It's a short walk to the train station and a lot of the most popular sites, and also isn't too far from the river and the Sado Island ferry terminal. The staff was wonderful and welcoming. Numerous great restaurants, including a lovely bar on the top floor with great views of the city.

I loved everything about this hotel. It has almost all facilities that you would like for a family stay. Plus, the location is the best in Niigata City. You stay above the Niigata Station, and you can move around the whole city and explore tourist attractions using the large bus network that operates at the hotel's location.

Wonderful cozy atmosphere. Great shower/bath area and small but relaxing lounge. Very friendly owners. Just a couple minutes’ walk to shops. We went in summer and it was a lot cooler than than Niigata City and there were some nice ponds and short hikes within a few kilometers. Owners speak Japanese, English, and Spanish.

I loved the staff they were so kind even with the language barrier we did just fine communicating. The breakfast that was offered was simple but enough. The smoothies they serve are so delicious. I definitely would stay here again if I should ever be in Niigata. It is centrally located to all the things we wanted to visit.

Located at the heart of Niigata, in the old part of the city, close to the river, the Hakusan Park, the Ryutopia Performing Arts Centre, and 10 minutes away from the sea side. Hotel staff is very friendly, delicious Japanese breakfast. The building is a bit old, but the rooms are comfortable, and the nights are very quiet!

Nice hotel with comfortable rooms, very well located right next to Niigata Station and lots of restaurants and shops. The staff were nice and very helpful. The room was small but had everything I needed, including a little bit of storage space.

The location in Niigata is excellent. The hotel is very nice, clean, and modern. The value for a standard room is good, but rooms with a full size bed (for 2 adults) are very small by American standards. (And I mean VERY small.)

This is my second time... This hotel has good customer service and also rooms are very clean. Car parking available . When i come to spend my lesuire time in niigata. I will book this hotel again and again surely ❤️✌️😍

The staff at Hotel Nikko Niigata are exceptionally professional and friendly. They are accommodating to kids and would go the extra mile to soothe a crying child. The rooms are spacious and have a good view of the sea.

I met so many incredible people at Guest House KuKu. The staff were so fun to hang out with late into the night and the location was great for exploring Niigata. I would love to stay again if I ever come back to Japan!

The Hotel Global View Niigata is conveniently located near the main train station and has a parking lot on site as well. The rooms were clean and cozy. Overall, the hotel had a recent remodel which looks great.

The hotel is located near Niigata Station and the Bus terminal. And Bandai Shopping Area. A lot of Restaurants and Bar and Cafe are available near the hotel. Walkable distance!
