Great service and food. Iiyama line was suspended but they offered a shuttle from bus stop nearby. It really cheered me up with the real vibe of “yukiguni” and outdoor onsen when snow flowing over me.

Loved everything about the property! It felt super homely, everything was really clean (including bathrooms and common areas), and it was just so peaceful to be staying in a traditional japanese environment with the forest just outside. Also, the bus stop is just a 5 minutes walk away.
Probably the best part was the couple that was helping to take care of the property, their friendliness and warmness was unmatched. I fell sick on my first day and the lady couple made some tea for me, brought me a thermometer and even offered to head down the mountain to buy necessities. They were truly kind and very pleasant!

We were so disappointed. The staff were not helpful trying to accommodate getting us to and from the mountain. We felt totally ‘stuck’ there. They expected us all to line up each morning to book transport to get to the village for dinner - if we didn’t get in we couldn’t leave the hotel. We attempted to walk one night - it was much further in the dark than we were told. As a single mother with an 8 year old and a 10 year old, I called from the village to say it would not be safe to walk back in the dark, up a steep hill in the snow. They told us they would not send a snow patrol or transport. We were forced to walk back - my kids were crying and I was nervous. They didn’t care. Shocking service. We will never stay there again,most of the staff are inexperienced
