Room: highly recommend to try their superior twin room which I honestly think is way much better than any room at the Prince Hotel - bigger size, comfy bathroom, and Netflix available on TV guys!!! Convenience: Mitsumata ropeway and the local bus stop are both right across the road - saving loads of time when riding the gondola / commuting back to Yuzawa station or to Naeba if you want to go for a 1-day trip Hospitality: delicious breakfast and dinner menu that varied every day during my stay. Coffee and sake also available at the counter, with a huge manga collection to choose from. Takuma San was also very very kind and considerate to drove me back and forth from hospitals/ train stations/ post offices, for which I really can’t thank him enough! Frankly it’s Brendan and his staff that make this place. It felt like visiting a friend’s lodge. It is also literally next to the beginner chair lift!! This was perfect for our family who are all at different experience levels. Brendan and his whole crew are fabulous! Nothing was too much trouble for them and they always made us feel welcome. I was initially nervous about the shared toilets and showers but I didn’t have to be - every thing was kept clean at all times and I never felt that I needed to wait even when the lodge was at full capacity. Gear drying room was amazing, small details like inside slippers, loads of shared living space, hairdryers, entertainment room, make this place perfect for families. Brendan was kind enough to pick us up from Kurohime train station as Myokokogen station was snowed in, which we were so grateful for! The breakfast is listed as continental but was generous and varied, we ate dinner here most nights too.
