Hotel in Tingwall
The Westings is located in Tingwall. All guest rooms in the hotel are equipped with a coffee machine. This was such a fantastic place to stay while we were in Shetland for Wool Week. David, our host, was extremely attentive and made sure we were right at home, showing us the place, asking what time was best for breakfast, and ensuring that the other guests (builders) were quiet while we were there. It is about 10 or 15 minutes outside Lerwick and the views were just absolutely stunning.

They have a mantra that reads "arrive as guests leave as friends" A very true reflection of their approach. Meals brilliant - breakfast to order to include as much as you could eat. A good selection of starters and mains for dinner - never eaten so much high quality seafood - especially the scallops - brilliant. So good to see an old style hotel keeping up with modern needs.
Hotel in Lerwick
Providing free WiFi throughout the property, Queens Hotel is located in Lerwick, within a few steps of Bain's Beach. The nearest airport is Tingwall Airport, 7.5 miles from the hotel. It is perfectly situated. This grand beautiful historic building is being renovated by the present owners. I had a room with a sea view which was magnificent. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. I loved the towel warmer and excellent water pressure in the shower. The staff were amazing. Sam, the owner’s son, went above the call of duty to provide towels and vacuum the sand I tracked into the room. Harvey, the owner, was fantastic! He even gave me a ride to the bus station. If you are interested in historic preservation this is the hotel for you. It sits actually into the sea next to Bain’s Beach. I had a fabulous week at the Queens Hotel.

Lerwick
Pleasantly surprised that keeping rooms warm is a thing in the Shetlands. Warm room, simple but hot reliable shower. Very nice. It's not like a modern hotel but felt cozy. Like staying at your Gran's but better. Breakfast was lovely and so was the lady who serves it. She gave us lots of nice conversation and helpful advise. I also like that the other tourists who stay here are totally not like the brits you find in Alicante The breakfast area is a place to hear interesting stories and pick up tips of where to go.
Bressay
The apartment was excellent: very clean, modern but cozy at the same time. I travel a lot (staying from campsites to 5 star hotels) and this was one of my favourite stays. It felt homely, was very peaceful and the hosts (Kim and Lesley) were so nice and helpful. They gave us many tips about the area. Staying here is a great way to experience Shetland (the atmosphere, walks and the friendly people); close to Lerwick - with frequent ferries. I/we highly recommend Midgarth House Apartments!
Tingwall
The Hotel is excellently located to explore Shetland and the other islands. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was included with a choice of cereals, fresh fruit salad and yoghurts in addition to a cooked menu to choose from. Well maintained property, my room was exactly as expected, comfortable, clean and quiet. Evening meals are available as required from a varied menu and sensibly priced.
Lerwick
Everyone who works at the Islesburgh House Hostel was so welcoming and friendly, they really made our stay that much better. The building was immaculate, very convenient to get to and so fun to stay in, it had a very homely vibe. We'd definitely come back again, it's a great place to stay while you're exploring Shetland, and really easy to get to from the ferry!
The staff in this hotel give you the traditional Shetland welcome. They go above and beyond what I expected in terms of helping me with my bag, making me a coffee in the bar and just being so friendly and helpful. The hotel is perfectly situated for a visit to Shetland - right in the middle of the shopping district and close to ferries
If you know you know! This is gem in the Shetlands. Do ‘t let the plain outwardly appearance of this hotel fool you. Inside it’s delightful, with clean, modern rooms , comfortable beds and excellent cooking. with the hosts extremely friendly and welcoming. The best seafood and Lobster around ! There is also an extensive whisky bar!
Queen's Hotel is one of the Lerwick lodberries being a building protruding out into the harbour. Room 229 is on the top floor looking out over Bressay Sound to the east. If you follow the TV series Shetland the view to the south is over Bain’s Beach to the house of Jimmy Perez just 50 metres away.
A very well appointed clean and bright apartment. The welcome pack was very good and very welcome, it introduced me to Shetland butter and I bought more to bring home with me. Good location overlooking the park on a quiet street but very handy for everything and only a few minutes walk into the centre.
This is a great apartment to rent for your holiday in Lerwick. It is spacious, very clean, and very well equipped. It is excellent value for money and the hosts are amazingly friendly and hospitable. We strongly recommend it to anybody who wishes to visit Shetland islands.

Hotel empty apart from us pretty well . Andrea made us so welcome and stayed chatting to us . We learned so much about Shetland ways
The Shetland Hotel had a great breakfast, friendly staff and is in a good location. The refillable biscuits were also a nice touch.
Quite basic but clean hotel with a small bar, right in the centre of Brae. Good starting point to explore (northern) Shetland
As far as I am concerned the Scalloway is the best place to stay while in Shetland.
