Set in a 19th-century building, The Sands Hotel, Orkney is situated along the shore of Scapa Flow in Burray village. It has a bar, a restaurant and beautiful sea views. Excellent staff and wonderful rooms! The beach outside was fun to explore and the little children’s park close by was great. Staff were amazing and meals were excellent

Located in Stromness and with Standing Stones of Stenness reachable within 8.5 km, The Royal Hotel provides a restaurant, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a bar. Beautiful spacious room, with spacious modern bathroom and cosy bed. Lovely breakfasts, excellent cosy private bar. Parking close by/out front if you time it right. Staff - amazing! Chef so lovely and lady on breakfast duty also - helped set up so we could watch the All Blacks v England rugby match early in the morning. Chef also showed some interesting local events being the Orca visiting the harbour. Made us feel very welcome. Breakfasts were great - lots of choice

Located in Kirkwall and within 16 km of Maeshowe, Albert Hotel features a bar, allergy-free rooms, and free WiFi throughout the property. This 3-star hotel offers room service. Breakfast was great. Location was coinvent to shopping and local restaurants. Parking was a little hard. Public car park nearby, but had to get free ticket every hour till 5PM, then free all night. Out the next morning. Small town and able to get our clothes washed in a nearby laundromat.

Exceptional Staff: The staff at the Kirkwall Hotel were incredibly professional and supportive. Their attentiveness and willingness to go the extra mile made my stay truly memorable. From assisting with taxi arrangements to facilitating an extended stay due to a missed flight, their genuine hospitality was exceptional. Unmatched Location: The hotel's location is unbeatable. Situated in the heart of Kirkwall, it provides convenient access to a variety of amenities. Lidl, Tesco, restaurants, souvenir shops, and the magnificent Magnus Cathedral are all within easy walking distance. Historic Charm: The Kirkwall Hotel itself is a treasure trove of history. The corridors are adorned with captivating historic pictures, offering a glimpse into the past. A particularly delightful surprise was the beautifully preserved guest register dating back to 1948, adding a unique touch to the ambiance. Peaceful and Inviting: My room was impeccably clean and offered a serene atmosphere, free from any disruptive noise. The view of the harbor was an added bonus, providing a picturesque backdrop to my stay. Highly Recommended: The Kirkwall Hotel offers an exceptional combination of comfort, history, and exceptional service. Whether you're a business traveler or a leisure guest, this hotel caters to a truly enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend the Kirkwall Hotel to anyone visiting Orkney. In fact, I look forward to returning myself in the future.

Situated on the Orkney Island, 14 miles from Kirkwall, Smithfield Hotel offers 3-star accommodation with free parking, a bar, and a restaurant. Kirkwall airport is 30 minutes’ drive away. Very comfortable room. Plenty of space. Good supply of coffee, tea etc. Excellent breakfast. 30 minute walk to a very good meal at the merkister hotel. We'll worth the effort.

Located on the shore of Harray Loch and family-run for over 30 years, the Merkister Hotel is a 15-minute drive from the main towns of Kirkwall and Stromness. The breakfast was beyond expectations. Absolutely delicious and hearty portions!

Located in Kirkwall, 2.7 km from Scapa Beach, The Orkney Hotel provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. Orkney hotel is well situated in the heart of Kirkwall, right next to St. Magnus Cathedral and near to the town centre. Staff was warm, friendly and hospitable and even though the check-in was late at midnite, night manager was on guard to provide the keys and helped with the parking of car. The hotel as well as the selected King Room provided the vintage look, along with the artistic poster bed and other furniture. Netflix on a big screens tv in the evenings was good to relax , added by the jacuzzi in the the bath - the icing on the cake ! Breakfast was good though options were limited. Even we were given the small packed breakfast a night before the next day early checkout, which was very thoughtful gesture from the staff. Large selection of whisky at the hotel's bar was attractive. Overall, though pricey esp. in off season but a good stay to spend short time in Kirkwall.
