The hotel building is a historical building with a long history. It is a beautiful and well maintained old building. Our hotel room was spacious and very comfortable with all the modern necessities, We were also given yummy treats of cookies and black vinegar (a speciality of Datong and Pingyao). Breakfast was very good and the serving was big. The location of hotel is very good cos it is near the West Gate and the historical buildings and restaurants are all within walking distance in the old city. The staff at the hotel are just excellent. Alice the manager is such a vibrant, knowledgeable and helpful lady who speaks very good english.

Pingyao Elsewhere Hotel is set in the Pingyao Ancient City district in Pingyao, 400 metres from Erlang Temple. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. The property was so beautiful. The furniture, the decoration, the terrace to sit outside of the room. Some of the staff also speak English, and the ones that don’t, are also very friendly and helpful.

The hotel's location is convenient, a 5-min ride from the South Gate. Facilities inside the room are all smart digital devices. I enjoy the mountain view outside the window at the tea table on the windowsill. It is a nice place to have fresh air, cool landscape and inner peace altogether. Most importantly the staff is very helpful. She helped to direct me to reach the hotel through a shortcut when the main roads were blocked due to overcrowded visitors on the first day of the lunar month. She saved me lots of time to complete my travel plan smoothly.
