The twin bedded room we had was very comfortable and clean and had all the necessities. The staff at the hotel Ms Wang, Ms Chai, Ms Bella and an old uncle who helped serve breakfast were such wonderful, helpful, cheerful people. I enjoyed chatting with them "although in my poor mandarin". The hotel is like a beautiful mini museum with many porcelain figurines and pictures and helpful english text.

Everything about it was amazing. First of all, location is absolutly perfect, right in the center of the old town, right next to the crossing of the two main steets. And despite that, we were well isolated from the noise in the evening. The room was very cosy, located at the back of a traditional courtyard. It was spotless and looked great. We even received a lovely little carpackage with local specialities. And last but not least, the personnel was extremely kind and accomodating. Alice gave us all the tips and information on how best to visit Pingyao and helped us with reservations and ticket purchasing, etc…

The hotel building is a historical building with a long history. It is a beautiful and well maintained old building. Our hotel room was spacious and very comfortable with all the modern necessities, We were also given yummy treats of cookies and black vinegar (a speciality of Datong and Pingyao). Breakfast was very good and the serving was big. The location of hotel is very good cos it is near the West Gate and the historical buildings and restaurants are all within walking distance in the old city. The staff at the hotel are just excellent. Alice the manager is such a vibrant, knowledgeable and helpful lady who speaks very good english.

Pingyao Elsewhere Hotel is set in the Pingyao Ancient City district in Pingyao, 400 metres from Erlang Temple. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. We had an amazing stay at Elsewhere Hotel in Pingyao! The rooms were wonderful and the personnel was incredibly friendly (and English speaking) and helped us with all our questions. We recommend this hotel.

I enjoy the mountain view outside the window at the tea table on the windowsill. It is a nice place to have fresh air, cool landscape and inner peace altogether. Most importantly the staff is very helpful. She helped to direct me to reach the hotel through a shortcut when the main roads were blocked due to overcrowded visitors on the first day of the lunar month. She saved me lots of time to complete my travel plan smoothly.
