The 4*S SPA & Naturhotel Outside is located in the center of Matrei in East Tyrol, surrounded by the mountains of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Each room has a balcony with mountain views. We recently stayed at this hotel, and while the property itself is well-maintained and the staff incredibly friendly, our experience was marred by an unexpected and disruptive renovation project. Just before our arrival, they began renovating the outdoor swimming pool, which made mornings unbearable due to loud construction noise. The noise also drastically altered the view from our room, replacing the serene mountainscape with a construction site. The hotel did offer a small discount for the inconvenience, but had we known about the renovation before booking, we would have considered canceling our stay entirely. Unfortunately, we weren’t given that option, which was disappointing. On a positive note, the buffet breakfast and dinner were both enjoyable, and the property itself is charming. Still, the noise and the construction site view significantly impacted our overall experience.

Bardzo dobrze wyposażony i bardzo czysty apartament, zgodny z opisem i zdjęciami. Położenie - dla nas było całkiem dobre ponieważ codziennie zmienialiśmy ośrodek narciarski - w promieniu 20-30 km Grossglockner czyli połączone ośrodki Matrei i Kals, St Jakob, Sillian, Lienz. Codzienne przejazdy są czystą przyjemnością pozwalającą nacieszenie oczu pięknymi widokami alpejskich krajobrazów :)
Super miejsce jako baza wypadowa na Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse. W cenie pobytu bilet na trasę. Możliwość zaparkowania motocykla pod balkonem (o ile jest jeszcze miejsce). Pokój super, w hotelu restauracja co umożliwia zjedzenie późnej kolacji po przyjechaniu na miejsce.

The family taking care of this property! They are so nice people 🥹 the bar and the restaurant is very cozy! And the last but not the least THE FOOD! The foid is extremely good here!
Excellent hotel with very spacious and beautiful rooms. In addition, there is a spa floor with two pools: indoor and open. The location is central to the town, and the breakfast is good with rich selection.
We liked sauna at apartment and the view at the city down of the mountain. Also pools at the territory were good and excellent breakfast. 👌🏻

It is a ski sport hotel. We were there in the summer and spent a great holiday with kids. All day food and drinks are included in the price. Variety of good food. Indoor swimming pool, sauna. Bike rental shop next door. Free parking. There is a lot to do in the neighborhood even in the summer, plenty of paths to hike and bike and other sport activities.

It's a lovely family run hotel, situated on perfect location right next to the Hohe Tauern Nationalpark. Makes it ideal for hiking and bike riding. Although the hotel was full, the atmosphere was really calm, quite and relaxing. You can use all the facitlies free of charge (car garrage, storage, pool, saunas, gym...) Besides brekfast and dinner there is also a coffee/tea break from 1 to 3pm when the cakes, coffee and tea are served also for free. We have highly appreciated this option after outdoor activities. But most of all we have liked the super friendly atmosphere between both the staff and other guests, like we know eachother for years :)
