Spacious. Garden seating near a stream. Use of a hot tub and sauna. Residents lounge was relaxing at the end of the evening. Good breakfast. Warm, friendly and informative owners.

Plateau Lodge is located 15 minutes’ drive from UNESCO World Heritage listed Tongariro National Park, where guests can enjoy skiing, hiking, cycling and paddling activities. Quiet and peaceful. Everything you needed was clean and tidy.

We came during the low season in June, and we really enjoyed our stay. The Lodge is well situated to hike in Tongariro National Park. We also really enjoyed the fact that the kitchen was well equipped! We wouldn’t hesitate going back!

Situated in the beauty of National Park and hosting guests for over forty years, Howard’s Mountain Lodge presents an idyllic and serene base from which to take in the epic scenery of the central... Very comfortable private room with heating and clean sheets etc. The showers and toilets were clean. The main kitchen was beautiful with everything that you might need. Lovely lounge areas with a cozy feel to them.
