Very sweet girl at the breakfast (for additional price but massive portions)

We love staying in old lodgings like this. It is in a quiet little village within a short drive of many attractions. The host, Debbie, was wonderful and spoke of local sites to see.

The Nithsdale Hotel ligger i hjärtat av Sanquhar på väg A76, halvvägs mellan Dumfries och Kilmarnock. Gratis Wi-Fi finns i hela hotellet och gratis parkering finns på baksidan. Nice and pretty rooms with a big bed. Especially the bathroom with its whirlpool bathtub and amazing shower. Personnel very friendly and helpful. We travelled with a dog and baby and had a great stay!

The lovely welcome from Sandy. He made us very welcome. We went to the cenotaph to pay our respects and the pipes and drums where lovely. Stranraer is a lovely place.

The Crown Hotel ligger i Newton Stewart i pittoreska Wigtownshire, i hjärtat av Dumfries och Galloway. Här finns en restaurang och eleganta rum med originaldetaljer. The service was unmatched, every member of staff were helpful, efficient and friendly, they couldn't do enough for you. The restaurant menu was great - a lot of variety especially with the specials menu changing frequently too. Breakfast was also a winner, continental and a full Scottish breakfast if you wanted (you could pick as many or as less items as wanted). The hotel is more than 300 years old so it was lovely staying somewhere that holds a small amount of history.

Detta 280 år gamla värdshus i hjärtat av New Galloway erbjuder mysiga rum med eget badrum, real ale, ett bra urval av maltwhisky och en populär restaurang med lokala råvaror. Lovely old hotel in the middle of the village. I called in & asked if I could drop off heavy rucksack & the proprietor Susan said I could check in early. She was very nice to chat with & so helpful. Comfy room & bed, good shower. Everything I needed. Big breakfast. I had a great walk down to Kenmure Castle - fascinating, spooky place in beautiful surroundings (see my photo). Could have very happily stayed for a week!
