It is in a quiet little village within a short drive of many attractions. The host, Debbie, was wonderful and spoke of local sites to see.

He made us very welcome. We went to the cenotaph to pay our respects and the pipes and drums where lovely. Stranraer is a lovely place.

The restaurant menu was great - a lot of variety especially with the specials menu changing frequently too. Breakfast was also a winner, continental and a full Scottish breakfast if you wanted (you could pick as many or as less items as wanted). The hotel is more than 300 years old so it was lovely staying somewhere that holds a small amount of history.

I called in & asked if I could drop off heavy rucksack & the proprietor Susan said I could check in early. She was very nice to chat with & so helpful. Comfy room & bed, good shower. Everything I needed. Big breakfast. I had a great walk down to Kenmure Castle - fascinating, spooky place in beautiful surroundings (see my photo). Could have very happily stayed for a week!
