All units in the hostel are fitted with a flat-screen TV. With a private bathroom equipped with a shower, rooms at Rata Lodge Accommodation also provide guests with free WiFi, while selected rooms have a mountain view. At the accommodation every room is equipped with bed linen and towels. The bedroom was so cozy with extra blankets, humidifier and heaters. Very homey.

Beautifully decorated with a Global Art theme. All rooms have central heating, beds are fully made-up with fresh linen and duvets plus bedside reading lights, convenient shelves, and individual power outlets. Arrived early cold and wet after another wet ride up the west coast on my motorcycle. Manager let me check in early and put the Sauna on for me to warm up in. Had a lovely relaxing afternoon off the bike. Fabulous hostel my 3rd time staying here now.

Wild Kea Lodge Franz Josef is a 10 minute drive from the Franz Josef Glacier and a 30-40 minute drive from Fox Glacier. I like everything:) Hospitality of people, staff, location, my room and the service.

Ivorytowers Accommodation is situated opposite Westland National Park rainforest and mountains, just a 4-minute walk from Fox Glacier Village. Guests can enjoy a hot tub surrounded by native bush land, a sauna and free WiFi. Easy to locate. Near approximate to many food eateries. Staff at counter were friendly and even provided us a map that helps us to navigate around the area well.

Glow Worm Accommodation is located in the center of Franz Josef and offers a range of shared dormitory rooms and private en suite rooms. Free unlimited WiFi is included.

All rooms include free breakfast in the morning and a free vegetable soup in the evening as well as BBQ facilities and free use of the spa pool. Staff was very friendly, first day we booked room with toilet, it was amazing. Second day due to weather change, we had to stay one more night and staff handled our check in seamlessly, we were given room earlier than our check-in time and it saved a lot of time and effort. Toilet is just few step distance and it was very convenient. Kitchen wise, it is clean, neat and tidy. Plus point for breakfast provided and free soup every evening.

Guests can choose between ‘pod’ dormitory rooms or private rooms with a refrigerator, microwave, toaster and electric kettle. Most rooms also have a TV. The pods feature a privacy curtain, a power point and a USB port. It had a ton of amenities and was in close proximity to Franz Josef.

The Undertakers Backpackers is located in Kumara, 20 km from Hokitika and 20 km from Greymouth.

You can play darts at this hostel, and the area is popular for cycling. Kumara Store and Cafe is a 2-minute walk from The Undertakers Backpackers. reservation staff were outstanding

Located in a historic miner’s pub, it features rooms with lovely garden and mountain views. The place and the host was very cozy and welcoming. The dog is super cute

YHA Tripinn Hostel Westport is 4 minutes’ drive from Carters Beach and the popular Coaltown Museum. Westport Airport is a 12-minute drive away. The most beautiful hostel. Clean, comfortable and so friendly.
