Great place to explore the glaciers. All necessary cooking equipment is available. It’s very close to the town center with supermarkets. And you can visit great places from here.
A tip is the nearby short Minnehaha walk. Here you can see glowworms during night.

The best hostel we have stayed in New Zealand. Modern, cozy, great shower pressure, spacious kitchen with dining area, there is even sauna with cold shower outside. Super friendly staff and in general nice atmosphere. We extended our stay for one more night and would definitely stay again.

A crowded and obviously popular Hostel in the heart of town ... Which turned out to be small but full of tourists... The staff at the hostel were friendly, helpful and informative... Showers were hot, Bed Comfortable and a well equipped kitchen ... Great mix of backpackers, workers and tourists were staying in this really nice Hostel
