Located in Otira, 12 km from Devils Punchbowl Falls, Rata Lodge Accommodation provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a shared lounge. The bedroom was so cozy with extra blankets, humidifier and heaters. Very homey.

Global Village provides comfortable, unique backpackers’ accommodation. Beautifully decorated with a Global Art theme. Great staff! They can come and pick you up from the train/bus station without extra cost ( I never stayed in a hostel that included that) and explained to you all the local places you can visit. The rooms are spacious and comfy, as well as the common aereas and everything is very clean. When you are in the hostel you already feel like you are travelling the world with their decoration.

Ivorytowers Accommodation is situated opposite Westland National Park rainforest and mountains, just a 4-minute walk from Fox Glacier Village. The location is great, near Fox Glacier, Lake Matheson and others. Also provide a big kitchen. This is a perfect place to stay and enjoy holiday.

Glow Worm Accommodation is located in the center of Franz Josef and offers a range of shared dormitory rooms and private en suite rooms. Free unlimited WiFi is included. Super friendly, huge kitchen, dining and lounge area, free popcorn and soup, spa bath, good sized rooms, comfortable, good bathrooms, good location

Surrounded by rainforest and mountains, Chateau Backpackers & Motels offers an outdoor fire pit, BBQ facilities. Chris, the owner, is a legend. He is running the place like a champ, from dusk till dawn, maintaining good humor and kindness in the process. The place is comfortable and of much better standard that other backpacker places we have visited before.

The Undertakers Backpackers is located in Kumara, 20 km from Hokitika and 20 km from Greymouth. The Undertakers Backpackers is a four bedroom cottage with a shared living area, kitchen and bathroom. reservation staff were outstanding

Wild Kea Lodge Franz Josef offers free unlimited WiFi and free on-site parking. It features free access to BBQ facilities, shared kitchen and a communal lounge area with a TV. I like everything:) Hospitality of people, staff, location, my room and the service.

Just 900 metres from Grey River, a popular swimming spot, Brunnerton Lodge and Backpackers offers free Wi-Fi and free bicycle rental. Brian (and his dog Rosie) was super helpful with our check-in and gave us plenty of tips for the surrounding area. Large room, everything we needed with comfortable beds (and the much needed electric blanket for the chilly mornings)

Tripinn YHA is the only Westport Hostel without a party bus so you will enjoy a good nights sleep. Just 3 minutes’ walk from Westport main street, Tripinn Motel & Share Accommodation. super cute cat! staff was friendly, showers clean, kitchen good equipped free parking
