Looking for a hostel?
Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

Liked the quirkiness the place. Owner very friendly. You can cook or food options nearby. Great value for money. Shared bathrooms not a problem as place full and never had to wait. Great location. Parking in carpark behind the hostel

Second time staying at the Global Village, and it's still one of the best hostels in NZ. It's clean, it's comfortable, it's got good vibes and it's quiet. It's a well run ship.

It's a lovely hostel, a bit further away from the train station and city centre but they offer you a ride if you come or leave by bus so it's not a big deal. There is also a supermarket quite close. Staff is very friendly, common spaces are clean. Rooms are spacious, bunk beds are good. Would recommend.
