Finlay Jack's Backpackers offers an ideal location in Taupo. The hostel offers single bed dormitory's. Really nice hostel, loved the common area to chat with people. Kitchen and dining area is big enough, room and bed really spacious with personal lighting and space for chargers etc

Excellent location, the owners went above and beyond to make me comfortable and even assigned me to a room by myself even though I was paying for a dorm room.

Based by the Lake is a 18+ hostel offering accommodation centrally located in Taupo, just minutes from the lake. Location was close to the lake, the food, the supermarket, everything. Amenities (kitchen and laundry) were clean and well thought out. Enjoyed the girls only dorm with the extra perk of a private balcony.
