Boasting great views of the city and ocean, Hakodateyama Guest House offers basic accommodation in a historic Japanese-style building, decorated with antique items. Very nice view and nice owners. I made a mistake while booking and we arrived a day before. The owner accommodated us right away (nice he had empty room for that night)!

Modern hostel in a good location. From the minute I entered I got a good impression, staff were extremely friendly and checked me in easily and gave me a thorough explanation of where everything was etc. The room was clean and the bed was very spacious and comfy especially for a hostel bed! Face and body towels were both provided which is always a bonus! The shower room was on a different floor which I thought was strange as you had to walk through the lounge/kitchen area to access them… yet the showers were clean and worked well. Oh and also … there were even straighteners and curlers in the shared washroom outside the showers! The washroom area in our room was very clean and the air freshener in the toilets smelt amazing!
