They came to town to give me my key and take my bags back so I could stay out for the day. A friend unexpectedly needed to share my room that night and it wasn't a problem. They also dropped us back to town the following day. The rooms are amazing and the hosts are real people's people. Incredible hospitality beyond any hotel !!!

The school house was a lovely place for me and my family to spend a weekend. It has been lovingly renovated to a very high standard and has so much charm and comfort, we would definitely stay again!! Perfect location, beautiful space and great hosts, thank you!
That was just one night on our way back from Cornwall and we've enjoyed it thoroughly. Lovely host family, sweet - very friendly and well behaved - dogs, rich breakfast - everything was just great!
Stopover for us on the way to plymouth to catch ferry to spain. Friendly staff. Nice clean and comfy room. Good selection of beers. I loved the otter ale! In the middle of the countryside. Peaceful. Friendly locals. Motorbike friendly. Parked our bike in pub car park . Room overlooked it so was able to see it when needed! And the "FULL ENGLISH BREAKFAST" hss to be the best weve had for a long time!! Thanks Jo for your smiles and great hosting!
Staying here is like being in a private home. The staff of all descriptions are simply outstanding, smiling all the time, and the Victorian garden is splendid. The cuisine is good, including the great breakfast menu, and the room could not be better. One of the biggest assets was the excellent value for money. This was my second stay, and I shall visit again next year.
The Bickford Arms Inn is tucked away in the countryside. It has a lovely outdoor area and fast charging points if you own an electric car. You can reach the North Devon coast in about half-hour. The bar area is cosy and lively with locals. The food is good and the owners are lovely hosts.
Breakfast was not applicable as this is a private home. In terms of location it was only a 15 minute walk to a long stay car park, but there was plenty of parking for drop off and collection of luggage or free parking around the streets in Topsham after 6pm
