He gave us some recommendations about things to do that were quite useful, and helped us to have a great stay on the island. The place itself was great as well, nice room, with everything you need. Good shared kitchen, and 'ice view outside on the terrace.

Caldeira Guesthouse is situated in Calheta, 100 metres from the Atlantic Ocean, in the Azorean São Jorge Island. It is located in natural surroundings, within the Fajã da Caldeira de Santo Cristo Natural Park, 30 km from the main village of Velas. David and his team were very kind and helpful, always there to advise us if we had any questions concerning our ongoing trip in the Azores. The breakfasts and the diner we had were excellent. The place was very calm, perfect to relax and its location near the sea and the trail makes it perfect for surfing and hiking.

Antonio was very friendly and helpful, the room was nice and clean, the garden is beautiful and the location is also very good. Happy with our stay.

The nearest airport is Sao Jorge Airport, 6 km from the guest house. Rui's home is located at the end of the village in the most peaceful area with a stunning view. Yet it's close to everything. We had an amazing time here. Rui is the most amazing host I've ever meet. He is helpful, thoughtful and always available to help with anything that can come up. Rui helped us to plan our stay on the island, gave us ideas what to visit and welcomed us like we were family. Rui's place is not just another nice accomodation on the island, it's a home away from home. And I would recommend anyone who wants to have a real Sao Jorge experience to stay with Rui. We will definitely return.

São Jorge Island Airport and Velas city centre are within a 10-minute drive. The hotel offers free private parking on site. The 2 bedroom apartment was spacious and clean. The large sliding glass doors allowed for exceptional views looking over Velas and the surrounding mountains from every room. Breakfast was the typical buffet style. All in all This a great place to stay in São Jorge.

The room was a short walk to anything in town. There’s also cafe with one of the better menu offerings in town right next to the hotel. My favourite amenity was the room’s large balcony with a great view of Pico. The staff is friendly and helpful. I asked lots of questions.
