Set in Gretna, the recently renovated Kirkcroft Guest House offers accommodation 42 km from Thirlwall Castle and 17 km from Carlisle Railway Station. There's nothing not to like ☺️. Chris and Tony are lovely and great hosts , full of knowledge from gretna in the war to the best places to visit and eat. The guest house was spotlessly clean , comfortable and Chris's breakfast was fabulous. The train station was an added bonus , it made it easy to enjoy an evening in Carlisle with the family. There's private parking , lovely walks and it's close to our Scottish family, so we'll definitely be staying again . Just like being at home ❤️

4.1 km from Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club in Dumfries, Kirkwirral Guest House - not self catering provides accommodation with access to a sauna and hot tub. Very friendly, super clean, fantastic decor, very high standard, bed was lovely and comfy, fab pillows! The hot tub was great, easy to book your slot/s, if like us it was a great start and end to a day. The hubby found the sauna to be an added bonus!! Fantastic seating areas by the river, very soothing to listen to the water rushing by, there is a lovely little summer house outside too, we would love to visit again in the summer. The biggest healthiest chickens in the front garden, don't forget to take them some grapes! Super breakfasts, and the smoothies were delicious, all in all not a bad thing to say about this fantastic little guest house!!

Corsewall Arms Guest House is situated in Stranraer and offers a terrace. The host was there to welcome us personally, and the prepared rooms were very clean and comfortable. A nice dinner was available at the Blue Peter, walking distance down the road, and a nicely prepared breakfast was served by the host in the morning,

Boasting a tennis court, Woodlyn Guest House is situated in Gatehouse of Fleet in the Dumfries and Galloway region, 49 km from Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club. The rooms are dead nice and the breakfast was just amazing, not to mention the hosts! The entire stay was faultless :)

Hamilton House is situated in Dumfries, less than 1 km from Dumfries and County Golf Club, 2.3 km from Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club, and 14 km from Caerlaverock Castle. The location is a little outside the town centre and although the room was at the front, it was quiet. The breakfast was excellent. There was parking onsite and there was a sitting area inside. The owners were very pleasant and helpful.

Loved the warm welcome from Robertson and all the personal touches. The room (twin room) was cozy and spacious. Plenty of coffee, tea, buscuits and milk provided (not so strictly rationed as elsewhere). Excellent value for money. Good breakfast freshly prepared. Across the road from the station, 10 minutes walk from the centre of Dumfries.

Boasting a garden and views of garden, Moffat Independent Hostel is a guest house set in a historic building in Moffat, 34 km from Dumfries and County Golf Club. One of the most beautiful mansions I've ever stayed in! Hosts were fantastic! Beautiful location in residency edge of Moffat with mansions & rolling pastures & hills. The house far exceeded our expectation and made the first stay in a hostel for my family the best it could have been. I've stayed in hostels many many times on my trip around the world in '89 but this was by far the most beautiful. We will be back due to my Moffat family heritage!
