The host, Elaine, was exceptional. Our room was at the back of the house and nice and quiet. Complimentary sips of whisky and chocolate helped us relax after a terrible travel day. Easy walking to city center and train station. Vegan breakfast was delicious.

Situated in Gatehouse of Fleet, Masonic Arms Gatehouse is 49 km from Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club and features various facilities, such as a garden, a restaurant and a bar. Very comfortable bed, large shower. The hotel also provided us with a steamer as they knew we were going to attend the wedding. Very sweet girl at the breakfast (for additional price but massive portions)

Homemade complimentary shortbread and cold milk made my late arrival less stressful. The facility itself is extremely clean and thoughtfully designed. Breakfast was delicious and filling.

Our host Christine was over the top lovely and so welcoming. Every question we asked was answered. Christine was so helpful and willing to give us suggestions on our travel route as well as recommendations for a dinner venue.

Moffat Independent Hostel is a friendly, family run, luxury hostel that has been set up with the outdoor enthusiast in mind. A lovely home feeling in this hostel. From the initial warm meeting from the owner (thank you) until leaving I felt very relaxed. I used the twin room on this trip and found it spacious and very comfortable. The communal areas are well spaced out and the kitchen well equipped. Plenty of seating in the dining room area to enjoy meal/breakfast without cluttering the kitchen. Parking , bike areas and drying areas available. On edge of a lovely town within a 15min walk ... this is an excellent decision to stay.

The view, the vibe, the staff and the food are all excellent. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Perfect stop for a few nights.
