Ueno, Tokio – hotely

The hotel is located 5 mins walk from Ueno-Station, with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Ueno Park and garden, with its multiple (national-, art-, royal-) museum, zoo, temples and shrines (Shinobazunoike, Gojoten etc.) is close as well. We stayed 7 nights and explored whole Tokyo easily by public transport with comfortable Suica-Card. One day we rented a very comfortable bike from the hotel to explore Ueno surrounding and the graves (Yanaka) and Ginza. Dinner at Nohega Hotel is expensive but very good and stylish. We enjoyed it. And thanks to the hotel team for that marvellous 5th anniversary party of Nohega Hotel. The whole stay was a pleasure.

Situated 1.5 km from Sensoji Temple, MIMARU Tokyo Ueno North provides free WiFi in all areas. The accommodation features a hot tub. The units have a kitchen with a microwave and a fridge. Firm recommendation for larger families/groups. We stayed at the Mimaru Tokyo Ueno North hotel which is made up entirely of suites of various sizes. We had a suite for six (for five of us), three adults (my wife and I plus 21 year-old son) and two teenage kids, 15 & 17. The suite has four single beds, more like 3/4 doubles (based on U.K. bed sizes). Fine for one adult, plenty of room. The beds are quite firm, certainly firmer than I’m used to at home, but very comfortable. Lots of pillows and some of them are double sided with the rice grain type filling on one side. Others are soft like a feather pillow (not sure of the filling but they were just like they were filled with duck down). There’s also two bunk beds which are similar size but narrower. My oldest son, 6ft, had no issue sleeping in it. There’s a kitchen area and seating for six. It’s equipped with a hot plate, sink, fridge/freezer and kettle along with cutlery and plates for six. Sharp knives and chopping board, plus pots & pans under the sink. We didn’t cook in the room, but we bought in bread, butter, cereal and cheese for breakfast to fuel up before we started the day. There’s no toaster, but you can borrow these from reception for no charge (Mimaru hotels have a variety of what they call “rental” items but they’re all free to borrow). There’s a lounge area with TV (all Japanese channels) but we borrowed an Apple TV from reception so we could watch Netflix etc. It’s about an 8 minute walk to Ueno station and about 10-12 minutes from Ueno Centre (lots of restaurants and shops). Lawson and Family Mart within a few minutes for bits & pieces and there’s a larger supermarket in the station (although it seems more expensive than the konbinis for the stuff we’ve been buying for breakfast). The only thing I could say against it, was the lack of shelf space in the wardrobe for things like t-shirts & shorts etc that you’d normally lay flat rather than hang up.

The room is comfortable and a pretty good size for Tokyo. It's clean too and the staffs are helpful. I also really enjoyed the rooftop public bath!

Ubytovanie MIMARU Tokyo Ueno Inaricho sa nachádza v centre mesta Tokio niekoľko krokov od miesta Ryukoku-ji Temple a 4 min. chôdze od miesta The Shitaya Shrine. Ubytovanie sa nachádza približne 3 min.... The beds were very comfy. The room was very well designed -- we fit 2 adults and 2 elementary-school kids comfortably. The location was pretty convenient for traveling to different destinations within Tokyo and there was a grocery store very close by. All in all a great place to stay.

Ubytovanie FL Hotel Asakusa sa nachádza v Tokyu v štvrti Taito 4 min. chôdze od miesta Rinko-ji Temple a ponúka izby s klimatizáciou. The front desk man was so helpful and friendly! Great location, very comfortable. THE beautiful view of the city with the skytree was wonderful to wake up to and come back to, after a long day of siteseeing.
