Located in Udawalawe, NATURE HOUSE offers rustic accommodation with free WiFi access available at all areas. Rooms are comfortable, clean and fitted with a spacious private terrace. Free transport to the elephant transit home is provided. Really large spacious rooms with a lovely view of the forest feels very serene. Had dinner there every night, 2,000 LKR PP for a buffet style curry but it was 10/10, really tasty & convenient!! Close enough to everything in Udawalawe, not a whole lot to do other than the safari and the elephant transit home. Had to go to the hospital during our trip for rabies shot they helped us with tuktuk and a guide that helped for the most part whilst at the hospital.

He welcomed us with a coconut and we got traditional Sri Lankan Dinner. It was delicious! He also offers safaris and Ayurveda massages, which I can highly recommend. Apart from that he has a very nice garden and terrace.

The food we ate there was the best we had in Sri Lanka.

With river views, Silent River Cottage is set in Udawalawe and has a restaurant and a 24-hour front desk. It is situated 16 km from Udawalawe National Park and features room service. The guest house also offers free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. We stayed only for one night. The apartman and garden was good. They have chairs and hammocks in the garden, so you can check the peacock from there. The room was clean, working AC, working WIFI. We had a great dinner at the place for 1.600 rupees. We werent pushed to buy safari from them. They organised us a tuk-tuk to the sea for a reasonable price.

Guests can enjoy a meal at an outdoor dining area and later warm themselves up in their unit's fireplace. super location! you are in the middle of the jungle, you have your own house, very clean, hot water, a/c and fan, water, fridge. plus there is a lake where we could swim, and you could do fishing. it was like you are in your own village. only 2 houses and huge territory! we liked being alone!!! the owner arranged safary, tgen taxi to Hiriketiya and in the afternoon offered us curd, very delicious. thank you a lot for hospitality! if we go again, sure will stat here. excellent accomidation with best prices!!!

The room was exceptionally clean , spacious and well equipped with a lovely covered area to relax with a book. Home cooked food was delicious and plentiful. Kuma also organised us a fantastic safari at the close by Udawalawe Park with a great driver/guide who found us lots of different animals, plus he arranged a trip to the Elephant Transit home which coincided with the baby elephants being given their milk. A truly unforgettable stay, and excellent value for money. I would definitely return there.
