My husband and I enjoyed our stay with Laura and Brian immensely. There we cookies, pastries, tea and coffee really available upon arrival and throughout our entire stay. For the self catered breakfast, there were lots of hot/cold cereals, breads, pastries (gluten-free options), juices, yogurts, local cheeses, and all the fixings. Each morning, Laura had scones or some other baked good heating in the oven. Heating your own food for dinner or eating take out was an option, too, which we took advantage of one evening. Our room was very beautiful, modern, and cozy with a very comfortable bed. The whole place was spotless. Laura suggested restaurants and places of interest off the beaten path. She was a gracious, thoughtful, wonderful host - some of the best hospitality on our month long trip! Thanks for everything, Laura. We loved our stay with you. Highly recommend.

Offering a garden and quiet street view, Shorelands B&B is situated in Kirkwall, 2.7 km from Scapa Beach and 17 km from Maeshowe. The manager Mr.Nicky is a very very nice guy. The breakfast is good and the room is perfectly clean. This B&B is even much better than the hotels in Kirkwall.

I Finstown, 5,7 kilometer fra Maeshowe, ligger Waterfront House, som har et privat strandområde, gratis privat parkering og en fellesstue. The location, the room, the shower, the bath tub (with TV!)... there is nothing to complain about. I don't know, what else you could wish for. Though no breakfast is included, plenty of options are provided for you so you can make up a little breakfast for yourself.

Set in Kirkwall, 15 km from Maeshowe, Castaway Guesthouse offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. Frokosten! Pannekakene var fantastiske 😋 Vi hadde et stort, ryddig og rolig rom med komfortable senger. Badet var meget pent, trolig nyoppusset. Vi kom med en sen ferge til Kirkwall og sjekket inn ved midnatt. Det var ikke noe problem.

Set in Stromness and only 6.7 km from Standing Stones of Stenness, Lindisfarne Bed & Breakfast offers accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Location was great, bus stop is at the end of the street. Suite was clean and comfortable and location was quiet.

Fiona and Colin were brilliant hosts. The breakfasts are fresh and cooked to order, along with a wide selection of cereals and juices. Our room was spotless and roomy, with a big closet for hanging up rain-dampened clothes. It’s a 20-minute walk to the centre of Kirkwall, or a 6£ cab ride if you’re coming back from the pubs. There is ample parking on the property.

Grainbank Mews, a property with a garden, is set in Kirkwall, 16 km from Standing Stones of Stenness, 18 km from Ring of Brogdar, as well as 17 km from Ness of Brogdar. Thank you to Albert and Aileen for a wonderful stay at Grainbank Mews. The room was beautiful and sparkling clean, with a delicious breakfast prepared for us each morning. Great location, just outside Kirkwall and a couple minutes' drive to all the shops and restaurants. We were really curious about life on Orkney, and Albert was very kind and informative, even pointing us in the direction of the 'Orkney Dictionary' (which I bought!) This place is a treasure and we would love to stay again the next time we are in town.
